TIIGM Chapter 7: The Weather Is Getting Cold

This was the third day the little fool hadn’t asked Alpha to tie his tie.

This was also the fifth day the little fool hadn’t brought him a little dessert!

And this was the seventeenth hour since the little fool last spoke to him!!

Since last night’s “Good night” until now—almost noon—he hadn’t even received a single message!

The assistant stood beside his boss with a blank expression, watching as Alpha pulled out his phone for the thirty-second time during the meeting.

Finally, the meeting ended. Alpha suddenly called out to the assistant:

“Xiao Li, is it possible for a phone to receive messages but not display them?”

Assistant: ??

The assistant smiled. “Yes, Boss.”

“Sometimes the network is bad, and messages won’t refresh.”

“Mm.” Alpha nodded and walked outside.

Was the network really bad?

Alpha walked a few steps to the left and switched positions.

In the end, Alpha coldly put away his phone.

Maybe the phone was broken, Alpha thought.

The little fool had been staying at home these past few days. Ever since Alpha left for work, he had been staring at a ceramic bunny in a daze.

It was his ceramic bunny!

The ceramic bunny had been smashed and then carefully glued back together. The shards were so sharp, and the little fool had seen the cuts on Alpha’s hands that morning.

Even though Alpha had done a terrible job fixing it, the little fool had been staring at it for days.

Sigh, if only he were really my husband! The little fool slumped his head down and sighed.

The little fool actually had so much he wanted to say to Alpha!

Coughing? You can take some loquat syrup.

Did you bring your cold medicine?

Did Alpha wear extra layers today?

Is his workload too heavy?

The little fool was a little worried.

Such a big man, would he take care of himself when he was sick?

Being sick with no one to accompany him was even worse.

Being sick, alone, and still having to work—that was the absolute worst.

The little fool cupped his face, his little brows furrowed tightly as his mind ran wild. His small face was scrunched up in deep thought.

But Alpha was just his creditor.

Not family. The little fool didn’t even dare to bother Alpha.

Not a husband. The little fool couldn’t be his usual carefree self around Alpha.

Recently, the little fool had been nothing but a timid little fool.

Suddenly, the phone in the living room buzzed loudly.

The little fool got up listlessly, shuffling along in his bear slippers.

Who could it be?

Wait! Wait a minute!

The little fool’s ears perked up.

Is this Alpha’s special ringtone?

The little fool ran over with quick steps.

"Hello? Mr.—" The little fool held the phone.

"Stop." Alpha had had enough.

"Huh?" The little fool didn’t understand and was about to ask Alpha what they meant when a pitiful voice came from the other end of the line.

Alpha's nose was blocked, and through the phone, their voice sounded like they were on the verge of tears. Alpha complained in a soft and aggrieved tone, "My nose is so stuffed."

"I'm coughing too."

"My head hurts as well."

"You didn't even call me." Alpha's last words were said lightly.

The little fool's ears turned red. Alpha was just talking, so why did it sound like… like they were about to cry?

So cute, the little fool secretly thought.

But they wouldn’t dare let Alpha know.

The little fool hurried to buy medicine.

The little fool felt a bit unlucky.

Delivering medicine, yet they still ran into that Omega from yesterday. Alpha seemed to be in a meeting, so the little fool was led into the office by the assistant. They sat upright, their eyes darting around, taking in the office they hadn’t visited for several days.

At that moment, that Omega, dressed in a well-tailored suit and holding a contract, strode confidently past the glass door and spotted the little fool in their cartoon-themed hoodie.

"Well, well~" The Omega turned and walked over.

A bad person, the little fool thought, turning their head away.

The little fool didn’t want to talk to bad people.

"I'm talking to you!" The Omega was displeased. Raised as the pampered young master of the Gao family, he had always admired his next-door brother, Sheng Zhi. Who would’ve thought some idiot would snatch him away?

But it didn’t take long before Sheng Zhi’s mother approached him. Mrs. Sheng said he was the one she truly favored as a daughter-in-law, that the position was his alone, even showing him a so-called "marriage alliance" contract.

"You just came here dressed like this?" The Omega tugged at the little fool's hoodie. "What do you think you look like? Truly like some stray cat or dog. You’re shameless, clinging on even though you’re just here to pay off a debt—"

Gao family's young master was ready to make a scene. After all, he was here today to finalize a deal between Gao Corporation and Sheng Corporation. A deal that would benefit both sides—who would refuse profit?

Besides, Sheng Zhi was a businessman at heart.

Gao's young master didn’t expect to be grabbed by Sheng Zhi mid-sentence. Alpha had silently appeared behind him, his face dark. Without waiting for the Omega to finish, Alpha yanked him by the collar and threw him out.

"A stray cat or dog?" Alpha sneered in fury.

"Where did you get the nerve?" Yesterday, he had been too busy tending to the little fool’s wounds to deal with these pests.

"Who told you he’s just here to pay off a debt?" Alpha pulled the little fool into his arms. His little fool—whom he couldn’t even bear to scold—was being insulted like this?!

The domineering CEO was furious.

Alpha didn’t even glance at the contract the Gao young master had brought. He tossed it straight into the trash.

—Where garbage belongs.

The little fool had never seen Alpha like this before. He actually threw that Omega out as if disposing of trash, without a shred of mercy.

Alpha’s face was dark.

Then came the loud slam of the door.

Alpha dialed a number.

"Terminate all cooperation with the Gao family."

"Which Gao family?"

"Heh, the one Mrs. Sheng recommended, which one else?"

Alpha hung up.

It was time to let them freeze.

"Sir," the little fool said in a small voice. Alpha was so fierce, the little fool was a little scared.

Hearing the little fool's voice brought Alpha back to his senses. His expression softened as he took the little fool’s bandaged hand.

"Did you get hurt?"

Alpha spun the little fool around, scanning them up and down with a frown before finally relaxing. "You could’ve just sent Xiao Li. Why did you come yourself?"

Seeing how worried Alpha was, the little fool also relaxed.

So Alpha was protecting him!

"I'm fine. You should take your medicine first." The little fool handed over the medicine box and found a paper cup in Alpha’s office to fill with warm water.

While Alpha took the medicine, the little fool quietly tugged on his sleeve.

"Sir, will terminating all cooperation really not affect—" The little fool cautiously watched Alpha’s face. Though Alpha had stood up for him, which made him a little happy, still… still, wasn’t this a financial loss?

"A mere Gao family is nothing." Alpha was indifferent.

Author's note:

Alpha on the outside (cool, domineering, and aloof): "A mere Gao family is nothing."

Alpha on the inside: "Why won’t he call me hubby?! Why won’t he call me hubby?! ( >﹏< )"

Little fool: "I just feel bad about the money."
