TIIGM Chapter 8: Stray Cat or Dog

Alpha had been troubled lately.
Why? Because a certain little fool hadn’t called him "hubby" for one, two, three, four, five… fifteen, sixteen, seventeen days.
Seventeen days—408 hours—24,480 minutes!
Seventeen days, rounded up, was twenty days. And another round-up made it a month! How many months were there in a year?!
Alpha: The domineering CEO is suffering.
After much thought, Alpha finally decided on the most straightforward (crossed out) most effective solution.
He went straight to the other person involved: Gao family's young master.
As the saying goes, "He who ties the bell must untie it."
Which meant, whoever bullied the little fool must be bullied in return.
This was peak domineering CEO behavior.
What Alpha didn’t expect was that Mrs. Sheng was still at it. Coincidentally, on the day Alpha visited the Gao family, Mrs. Sheng was also there—not for anything else, but to reconcile with her "future daughter-in-law" by gifting two newly acquired exquisite vases.
Rumor had it, Mrs. Sheng went through quite the trouble for those vases.
Sheng Zhi stood to the side, looking at the two vases with increasing displeasure.
Alpha suddenly thought of the little fool’s broken ceramic rabbit.
So, the overbearing CEO found the vases even more of an eyesore.
In the end, Alpha “accidentally” slipped, and the vase rolled to the ground.
Oh no— crash!
Gone.
The overbearing CEO finally felt at ease again.
Sheng Zhi only learned the whole story after hearing Madam Sheng’s tearful cries.
Furious, the overbearing CEO almost wanted to smash another vase.
But after the anger passed, Sheng Zhi began to feel uneasy.
The Xu family had sent the omega to him in a hurry to please him. There wasn’t even a wedding, and they barely had any photos together.
He and the little fool had never gotten married, nor had they registered their marriage.
Yet, only the little fool would foolishly call him husband.
The peaceful facade was torn apart—his encounter with the little fool had only ever been a calculated act of flattery.
It was a straightforward transaction: Xu’s father traded a small trinket in exchange for Sheng Zhi’s mercy toward the Xu family.
Cold and cruel.
But throughout the entire ordeal, no one had ever asked for the little fool’s opinion.
Being abandoned or being given away—he had never had a choice.
Would the little fool be happy? Or sad? Would he secretly cry?
No one cared.
No wonder that person dared to provoke him, calling the little fool just a stray cat or dog.
No wonder the little fool refused to call him husband anymore.
They had never been family.
But Sheng Zhi knew just how much the little fool longed for one.
His little fool was afraid of being abandoned.
The overbearing CEO paced around the office N times before finally calling his assistant.
"Hello?" His tone was unnatural—stiff and awkward as he issued the command. "Come upstairs."
Xiao Li shivered. Was the company going bankrupt? Or had hell frozen over?
Either way, the CEO’s tone was enough to freeze someone to death.
Trembling, Xiao Li pushed open the door.
"President Sheng?"
"Hmm." Sheng Zhi’s face remained expressionless. "Sit. You know when couples have misunderstandings, argue, or make each other sad?"
"Oh, and when they cry too." Sheng Zhi suddenly recalled the little fool’s red-rimmed eyes that day.
Xiao Li: ???
"Ahem, how do you usually handle that? Are there standard solutions? Any practical methods?"
Xiao Li: ……
Lately, Xiao Li had been seriously wondering if his boss had some sort of condition.
Ever since that “friendly conversation” with the CEO, he had noticed that the boss’s behavior had been increasingly abnormal.
Like today, when the boss had made multiple rounds around the office, terrifying everyone into actually working.
And, of course, he had been parading around with his rumored arranged-marriage little wife.
Acting all smug.
As if the rest of them didn’t have wives.
Xiao Li silently thought to himself.
The little fool trailed behind the alpha, his wrist gently held by the man.
His fingers curled slightly.
The little fool felt embarrassed—there were so many people in the office!
Alpha noticed the flushed tips of the little fool’s ears and the way he shyly clutched his sleeve. His lips curled up, barely noticeable.
Tsk.
What an inexperienced little fool.
Alpha twisted his hand and changed his grip—interlocking their fingers instead.
But… an inexperienced little fool was pretty cute.
He would never abandon the little fool.
"Stay close to me," Sheng Zhi said.
The little fool was not some stray cat or dog to be bullied.
Wherever Sheng Zhi was, that was the little fool’s home.
The overbearing CEO deliberately cleared his throat and walked hand in hand with his little fool, strutting past a group of stunned employees.
Employees: …
Thanks, we feel attacked.
After spending two days wandering around the company, the little fool had reached the point where he could enter and exit just by showing his face.
After lunch, he carefully knocked on the alpha’s office door, holding a cup of hot tea.
"Come in."
"Just say what you need." Alpha looked at the little fool, who was tugging nervously at his own shirt.
"Can I not… come tomorrow?" The little fool asked hesitantly, his thoughts simple—he had no idea why the overbearing CEO had dragged him all around the office.
His legs were so sore. He really, really felt exhausted, as if they weren’t even his own legs anymore.
The little fool was on the verge of becoming a listless, sluggish little fool!
"Tomorrow?" Alpha looked up from a pile of documents. The little fool actually wanted to come tomorrow?
Typical omega—so clingy. Always wanting to stick to him.
Hmph.
"Ahem… well, alright then, you can come tomorrow too." Alpha turned his face away. But since the little fool had asked… well, it wasn’t that bad.
Alpha thought to himself—good thing he was patient. Otherwise, who could tolerate such a clingy omega?
Where should they "inspect" tomorrow? He pondered. They had already toured the entire company. Maybe the branch office?
Perfect—everyone should recognize their future boss lady.
Alpha silently adjusted his schedule.
"…Huh?" The little fool instantly deflated, his little tuft of hair drooping.
He had to come again tomorrow?
Forced into the life of an office worker, the little fool was full of grievances but dared not voice them.
Pouting, he decided he wouldn’t make alpha any osmanthus cakes for the next three days.
No—make that seven!
