What’s the first thing Joey did after coming back to his senses?

Of course, it was tattling!

The cowardly little mutt, who had nearly pissed himself in fear, returned home still shaken. But that fear quickly transformed into shame-fueled rage. A small but fierce flame burned wildly inside him.

Damn that psychotic yandere! How dare he bully me?!

Did he really think I wouldn’t understand Ottomans language when he was showing off his low-class insults about my dad right in front of me? Ha! Let me tell you something—not only did I understand every word, but I’m also going to expose his ugly face to my dad! I’ll make sure my dad beats him black and blue!

Hmph!

Super petty Joey gritted his teeth in anger.

Sitting in his blanket, he grabbed onto Garius—who had just finished dressing him in his pajamas and was now carefully brushing his fluffy curls—and began speaking urgently.

“Garius! Garius! Let me tell you, some damn third prince or whatever secretly hates you! He even said he wants to torture you, burn down District 13, and he bullied me too—”

“Wait, f**k! I forgot you don’t understand Chinese!”

Seeing Garius’s confused expression, Joey suddenly remembered their language barrier. Frustrated, he asked the system if it had a translation function that worked both ways.

But the system was just a public-service assistant—poor and pathetic. It had to borrow even the most basic plugins from other systems. Where would it get fancy features like that?

If it had something like that, wouldn’t Joey have been using it ages ago?

Joey: Sigh! If I had known this would happen, I wouldn’t have slacked off when Garius was trying to teach me Ottomans languange!

He then muttered complaints about his dad’s lack of patience—saying that Garius had only taught him for a few days before giving up.

Completely forgetting the real reason:

Back then, whenever Garius tried to teach him, Joey would just nuzzle his fluffy curls against the man’s throat, making even the mighty Lord Heine’s heart melt. In the end, Garius could only shower his little human with forehead kisses, indulging him in his laziness.

“What now?”

【Use your ultimate skill.】

“Got it!”

Joey sat up straight and looked at his dad with a serious expression.

And Lord Heine’s eyes were filled with indulgent affection.

He looked at Joey the way an adult would look at a little kid insisting on playing pretend.

So, even this late, he still wants to play a game?

With that thought, Garius also sat up straight, mirroring Joey, his usual smile fading as he put on a serious expression.

“Daddy, are you ready?”

“Mm, I’m ready.” Lord Heine nodded, showing a level of focus he didn’t even have during council meetings.

Joey squinted his eyes. Time to activate Joey’s ultimate skill!

—Joey’s Ultimate Skill: Official Name—Joey’s Sign Language. Stage Name—Random Hand Gestures, Pictionary Edition.

—Effect: By combining Joey’s absolutely useless miming with Garius’s ultra-S-tier intelligence, they can forcibly achieve an astounding 99.9% success rate in mind-reading communication!

Joey solemnly pointed at himself, then at Garius: Right now, you are me.

Garius nodded lightly (holding back laughter). “Mm.”

Then—

Joey narrowed his big round eyes into slits, raised his chin, curled his lips into a deep and mysterious smile: I am that damn yandere bastard.

Garius continued nodding.

Joey first flashed a smile at Garius and deliberately pointed to his own smile and eyes, then gave a big thumbs-up.

Garius, with his sharp observation skills and high intelligence both operating at full capacity, gazed at his little human’s ridiculous antics with fond patience. He lowered his voice and coaxed, “A person with a nice smile and good looks came up to you, right?”

“Mm! Mm! Mm!”

That’s right! Joey’s face lit up in delight—as expected of my dad!

Garius smiled as well.

And then—

Joey quickly seized the moment. He twisted his face back into that fake smile, recalling what that damn yandere did to him. He suddenly leaned in close to Garius’s face and cupped it in his hands.

Garius’s smile immediately faded.

“He got close to you… and held your face?”

“Mm-hmm!”

Joey rubbed his thumb across Garius’s cheek.

Garius’s expression completely darkened.

“He even touched you.”

“Mm-hmm!!”

Joey was so focused on getting his message across that he failed to notice that the handsome man in front of him had turned into a walking blizzard, his entire aura dropping into a freezing abyss.

Thrilled by their mutual understanding, Joey quickly imitated the yandere’s sudden change in expression. He forced his mouth into an unnaturally wide grin, scrunching his whole face together, narrowing his eyes until they practically disappeared, and even let out two sinister chuckles.

“His face twisted, terrifying, eerie…” Garius trailed off, his pupils turning ice-cold as he connected the dots. His anger was barely contained as he asked in a low, dangerous voice, “Joey, answer me. Did he threaten or intimidate you?”

“Mm…”

Of course, he did.

Joey pouted so hard you could hitch a horse to his lips.

You don’t even know how badly I got bullied!

Feeling completely justified, he exaggerated his accusations. He pinched and pulled Garius’s skin, then turned around, grabbed the back of his own neck, and yanked it to demonstrate. Finally, he pressed two fingers against his eyeballs, about to dig them out—only for Garius to immediately seize his hand.

It hurt a little, and Joey instinctively tried to pull away, but he couldn’t break free.

He looked up in confusion…

Oh sht, Dad’s face is pitch black!*

“He said he’d skin you, pull out your bones, and gouge out your eyes—”

Thinking those words were directed at Joey, Garius’s jaw tightened.

He didn’t even dare imagine what kind of sinister threats had been made against his obedient and fragile little human while he wasn’t around.

“He really said that to you?” Garius asked again, expressionless.

“Yes.” That’s exactly what he said to you.

Completely unaware that Garius had misunderstood, Joey nodded angrily.

If it were just me getting bullied, I might’ve swallowed my pride to avoid causing trouble for Garius.

But that psycho yandere hates Garius!

If I don’t warn him, what if he gets stabbed in the back by that two-faced lunatic someday?!

Joey had no idea that his words had unwittingly triggered Garius’s full attention.

The Heine family was an old noble family among the empire’s old nobility.

Though the old era had passed, their deep-rooted pride and dignity remained.

The higher their rank, the more disciplined and refined they were.

Even at home, they never overslept. Their clothes were always neatly pressed. They bathed daily, trimmed their hair and nails regularly, ate a light diet, and drank alcohol in moderation.

Their entertainment was always elegant, strictly limited to one or two hours at most.

As for the internet… well, let’s just say Joey had never seen his dad use a communicator for anything other than calls and checking the time.

Let alone vulgar speech or reckless behavior—Garius didn’t even bat an eye when an assassin cursed him as a “devil,” merely responding with a slightly colder gaze.

To Lord Heine, emotions that weren’t rational or appropriately sentimental were unnecessary distractions.

And among them, anger was the most useless of all.

The men of the Heine family were unwavering guardians.

They never got angry for their own sake.

Every time they drew their swords, it was always to protect what they cherished.

So if someone had said, “I’m going to skin you and pull out your bones,” Garius wouldn’t have wasted a second thinking about it.

But if those words had been spoken to Joey, who was already under his protection…

“Sleep. I’m right here.”

Garius, noble and composed, yet unwaveringly confident, held the little human close, pressing his small head into his chest and wrapping him in the blankets.

He listened as Joey grumbled—probably cursing someone—until the warmth of Garius’s embrace lulled him into sleep.

But even when Joey finally drifted off, his golden-green eyes remained open in the dark.

Only when Joey was completely asleep did Garius carefully lay him down on the soft bedding.

Then, he quietly left the bedroom.
