RAAS Chapter 102: Origin World (IX)

Xin Er was truly shocked.

It was like meeting a new friend, telling them not to wander off too much, to be good and stay put, only to wake up the next day and find out that—holy crap!—that friend had become the president of a country, the ruler of the world, or, even more ridiculously, had evolved into Superman, Spider-Man, or a full-on mecha-warrior!

What kind of insane power jump was this?! How were they supposed to play together normally anymore?!

Just a second before returning to the Origin World, Xin Er had still been busy coaxing his sulking, brooding host. But when he turned around, he was completely floored by the overwhelming news spreading everywhere—

The battle between the Poachers and the Order Keepers had reached a climax, and in the end, both final bosses perished.

And the one who defeated them… was actually his best buddy!

Shi Qing and Qin Mo!

Seeing their names and images plastered all over the world, Xin Er truly didn’t know what expression to wear. He remained silent for half an hour before finally turning around with an exasperated look. He pointed at the giant screen displaying the two people exuding an air of cold, domineering power and said, his face filled with pain, “Them… Those are the ones I mentioned before… my lifesavers…”

His host: = =!

The origin world had already descended into complete chaos.

With Chi Xuan and Xia Xun gone, both the Independent Alliance and the Orderly Association crumbled instantly.

Organizations that had been maintained through violence and promises of benefits exposed countless flaws once their balancing forces disappeared—flaws so glaring they were unbearable to look at.

The Independent Alliance had already been notorious. Since those with nothing to lose feared nothing, they didn’t dare provoke those two figures, but they had no qualms about attacking the Orderly members.

By now, they had also learned to be cunning—if their reputation was ruined, they might as well drag the Orderly Association down with them.

The dark side of the Orderly Association was revealed, and its level of corruption was truly appalling.

It was true that the Orderly Association did not devour systems like the Independent Alliance did, but what they did was not much better!

Due to their long-standing war with poachers, more than half of the Orderly hosts had lost their systems. Without a system, survival meant having to steal someone else’s system.

However, since the Orderly Association prided itself on protecting systems, they couldn’t openly engage in such behavior. Instead, they devised an alternative—a method of system sharing.

They would seize high-quality systems and force them to serve multiple hosts at once. This solved the immediate crisis for their hosts, but they never once considered the systems’ own will.

A system’s power was limited. Signing a contract with a single host was a mutually beneficial relationship, but signing with multiple hosts at once was no different from self-destruction.

With endless demands being placed upon them, systems perished one after another. The Orderly Association would then simply seek out new systems to replace them, repeating the cycle. To keep their secrets from getting out, they imprisoned the systems, claiming it was for protection when, in reality, it was nothing more than abuse.

Once this secret was exposed, the Orderly members took things even further—if their own systems weren’t talented enough, they would trick exceptional systems into joining them. Once trapped, the systems had no choice but to obey. Refusal? They had plenty of ways to make them submit.

Xia Xun’s departure had been too abrupt, and Xia Zhe was severely injured while trying to save him. With both leaders down, the supposedly impregnable Orderly Association suddenly became riddled with holes.

Poachers seized this opportunity and dug up every last bit of dirt on them.

“Oh, so you call us disgusting monsters? What you’ve done is far worse than anything we’ve ever done!”

At first, many still wanted to defend the Orderly Association, but after this revelation, they avoided it like the plague. In fact, they were eager to stomp it further into the ground—who would still want to stand by them?

One month later, the world had been turned upside down.

When Qin Mo and Shi Qing reappeared, what awaited them was a massive, chaotic mess.

Shi Qing was completely dumbfounded. The only thought in his mind at that moment was: Thank god I didn’t stupidly agree to become the Lord God! How the hell is this a job for a person?!

Although he hadn’t become the Lord God, with Chi Xuan and Xia Xun gone because of them, their sudden reappearance immediately attracted a massive crowd.

Not to fight them, but to cry, beg, and plead for refuge…

After experiencing firsthand what it felt like to be completely overwhelmed, Shi Qing felt he was on the verge of developing a permanent poker face.

Your tactics are really endless, huh?! I don’t want to deal with your mess, so can you stop bringing it to me?! Also, who the hell wants to be your leader?! I’m not cut out for this!

With a throbbing headache from being hounded relentlessly, Shi Qing had no choice but to turn to his host for help.

Qin Mo stepped in and swiftly handled the situation.

In just another month, the chaotic origin world had settled back into order.

As spectators, Shi Qing and Xin Er could only say: Please accept our lifelong admiration!

Xin Er’s host: = =!

In reality, Shi Qing was capable of doing what Qin Mo had done, but he simply didn’t dare to.

During those eventful two weeks, Shi Qing and Qin Mo made a startling realization.

They each possessed half of the Lord God’s power—when combined, they became the Lord God.

And by “combined,” it meant exactly what it sounded like. No one misunderstood.

After merging, they gained full access to the Lord God’s abilities. Shiqing’s "System Manual" also revealed its true form, evolving from "System Quick-Start Manual" to "The Book of the Lord God."

Its contents were so powerful they defied imagination.

Qin Mo skimmed through it, then proceeded to create a potion.

Any poacher who consumed the potion would be able to separate the systems they had devoured from their own bodies. The reborn systems would then be granted a new body and the right to choose a new host, courtesy of the Holy Sanctuary of the Lord God.

But the poachers wouldn’t be abandoned either—they would receive artificial systems created by the Lord God. These inorganic systems had no consciousness or emotions, and their aptitude was entirely random, depending solely on luck.

At first glance, this didn’t seem to address the root of the problem—those seeking power might still try to devour other systems.

But then, Qin Mo introduced a decision that set the entire origin world ablaze.

The Vault of the Lord God Reappears

The vault of the Lord God has once again descended upon the world.

It is now open to everyone—any system or host can enter the Lord God’s sanctuary and witness the full splendor of the vault.

Almost all items inside are available for public access, but acquiring them requires strict conditions.

A high number of completed mercenary missions, specific level requirements, special trial challenges, and an enormous amount of sub-coins…

The conditions are incredibly demanding, yet no one hesitates.

As long as there is a goal, one can work towards it.

The real fear is having something completely out of reach.

No matter how great your talent, no matter how vast your wealth, no matter how many hundreds of SSS-level mercenary missions you complete—if you still cannot obtain what you desire, then there’s only one choice left: plunder.

With such an open platform, where achievements are possible through hard work, who would still resort to hunting systems?

Of course, there will always be a handful of true lunatics.

But compared to the previous chaos, this is already a massive improvement.

After setting everything in motion, Qin Mo no longer concerned himself with the matter.

The reason the Lord God was ultimately torn apart by his own order-keepers was due to his own corruption.

Sitting high above, looking down on all, wielding absolute power—yet forced to face utter solitude.

Over time, his will faltered.

And then… he fell.

Qin Mo and Shi Qing refused to become gods. They accepted the Lord God’s blade and shield but handed over the vault.

The vault was always meant to be a gift from the Lord God.

It belonged to everyone in the first place.

At last, the chaotic origin world was reborn, resuming its true purpose:

Maintaining the balance of countless small worlds.

——

Sin'er and his host lingered for three months before eagerly departing for a new mission.

Shi Qing, grinning, saw them off before turning back and disguising himself alongside Qin Mo to enter the mercenary guild.

The guild was bustling with noise and excitement. Systems and hosts, tempted by the extravagant rewards, were enthusiastically scanning the mission board, desperate to accept multiple tasks at once. Many were eager to complete fifty B-level missions just to qualify for that one sleek and dazzling divine weapon!

Shi Qing was searching too—looking for the mission Qin Mo had mentioned earlier.

But after scanning through everything from top to bottom, he found nothing…

It felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head.

Shi Qing’s heart sank—he must have been too late. The mission was too simple and had already been taken.

He had missed it. He had missed his chance to return to Earth.

Seeing him frown in disappointment, Qin Mo took his hand and asked, “What’s wrong?”

With teary eyes, the little panda mumbled his troubles.

Qin Mo: …

“How many pages of the Lord God's Book have you read?”

Shi Qing: “Eight… over eight hundred?”

That sounded like a lot, but considering the book was tens of thousands of pages thick, even finishing it all would be a daunting task.

"Page 937, second entry."

Shi Qing blinked in confusion and quickly flipped through the book.

Then, his eyes widened in shock before he jumped up excitedly.

No way! He could issue missions?!

He could choose any world he wanted?! Any mission he desired?!

He had mercenary guild privileges?!

What was there to worry about anymore? Nothing! Absolutely nothing!

Shi Qing eagerly started searching for a mission to Earth…

After scrolling endlessly, he deflated again.

Damn, too many worlds! How long would it take to find his world?

Qin Mo lazily scratched the soft fur on the back of Shi Qing’s neck and whispered, “Use the search function.”

Shi Qing’s eyes lit up again as he quickly searched.

Within moments, an entire list of tasks appeared.

Locking onto the relevant ones, filtering, filtering…

Found it! Earth. China. X City. Shi Family.

Issue mission!

Instant acceptance!

Done!

——

As he entered the time-space tunnel, Shi Qing had never felt so nervous yet excited.

He was going home… he was really going home!

His emotions were indescribable. Only after emerging from the tunnel did he finally snap back to reality.

And then he froze.

Too… too excited. He hadn’t paid close attention and had ended up choosing a very simple mission.

But wasn’t this too simple?!

And why—

WHY HAD HE TURNED INTO A CAT?!

Shi Qing stiffly turned his head and immediately spotted a particularly, particularly, particularly beautiful black cat beside him.

Heh.

Heh heh.

Heh heh heh.

You… you can’t be my host, right?!
