Liu Anna also approached and, not knowing what the others had been talking about, suddenly started arguing with Zhao Huanrui.

Liu Anna pointed at Meng Jiangtian, and several people looked over.

The ability user holding the notebook glanced at Cui Xisheng, his eyes narrowed for a moment before he quickly regained his composure.

Meng Jiangtian noticed the glance from the ability user with the notebook, and his heart sank. This little wildcat’s attraction was now this strong.

A few people walked over, and Meng Jiangtian pulled Cui Xisheng behind him.

“Jiangtian Ge, they’re so shameless, stealing all your credit.” Liu Anna angrily grabbed Meng Jiangtian's arm to report the situation.

After failing to win over the six ability users, Liu Anna chose to approach Meng Jiangtian again.

She had just heard the student council president and Zhao Huanrui boasting about their achievements in front of the new ability users, taking all of Meng Jiangtian’s credit for themselves.

As Meng Jiangtian’s status rose, her status would naturally rise as well. For her future, Liu Anna immediately exposed Zhao Huanrui’s exaggerated claims.

“Liu Anna, stop talking nonsense! Who stole the credit? What I said is the truth!” Zhao Huanrui shouted angrily, his face red.

Their accomplishments had already been written down in the ability user’s notebook, and now this woman had to intervene.

Zhao Huanrui not only helped the student council president claim the credit but also tried to take some of the credit for the things Meng Jiangtian had done.

Initially, when he saw Meng Jiangtian staying with Cui Xisheng and not interacting with the ability users, he thought he and the student council president could handle things themselves.

Once they arrived at the safe zone and their merits were recorded, ordinary people would be scattered, and Meng Jiangtian wouldn’t pursue it. No one would know how much extra credit they took.

But the problem was that Liu Anna, this woman, shamelessly approached the ability users. At the key moment, she overheard him and started making a scene.

Meng Jiangtian didn’t care about it, but this woman had to step in, and that’s why Meng Jiangtian disliked her.

“You’re saying it’s the truth? You’re so shameless. Let me ask you, who brought back the food for the people upstairs? Are you going to claim that you two brought it all back?”

“With Jiangtian Ge here, he used his wind ability to drag the food back. Without him, you two wouldn’t have brought back a single bag.”

“When Jiangtian Ge was away for those few days, we went hungry for a few days. In the end, it was still Jiangtian Ge who brought the food back.”

“Officer Bai, the food we just got was brought back by Jiangtian Ge, and has nothing to do with them.”

Liu Anna didn’t hold back, exposing Zhao Huanrui’s lies.

Wang Kun and Officer Bai, holding the notebook, looked at Zhao Huanrui.

Officer Bai withdrew his gaze from Cui Xisheng and looked at Zhao Huanrui, asking, “Is what she said true?”

Zhao Huanrui, feeling guilty, broke into a sweat. Meng Jiangtian was right there, so he didn’t dare to lie anymore, but he also couldn’t admit it. He gritted his teeth and said, “What I said is true as well. We also risked our lives to bring back food.”

“You still have the nerve to say that? How much food did you two actually bring back? Most of the food eaten by the people upstairs after the apocalypse was brought by Jiangtian Ge.”

“Now that Jiangtian Ge is here, say it again—who brought back the food you just divided?” Liu Anna angrily shouted.

Zhao Huanrui glanced at Meng Jiangtian, but didn’t dare say a word.

The atmosphere grew awkward. Officer Bai tapped his pen on the notebook, observing the student council president and Zhao Huanrui.

One was flustered, the other guilty. This was the first time he had encountered ability users who lied to him.

His gaze turned to Meng Jiangtian, a faint trace of mockery in his calm demeanor. With the contrast in expressions between the three, Officer Bai made a preliminary judgment.

His eyes then caught a curious little head peeking over Meng Jiangtian’s shoulder, with big, dark eyes secretly glancing at him.

When their gazes met for a brief moment, the round, glossy eyes illuminated Officer Bai’s heart, giving him a sense of clarity about the confusion he felt in this post-apocalyptic world.

Such beautiful eyes! Officer Bai couldn’t look away, his gaze fixated on Cui Xisheng, wanting to keep looking at those bright, large eyes.

Cui Xisheng was already a bit helpless. Why did everyone look at him as if they wanted to devour him?

He shifted to the side, instinctively hiding behind Meng Jiangtian, trying to avoid Officer Bai’s gaze.

But on the other side, Wang Kun’s scorching gaze was just as impossible to ignore, even more intense than Officer Bai’s.

Cui Xisheng felt like crying. Why did so many people look at him with such creepy eyes?

Had the apocalypse removed all societal restraints, and now these men were unleashing their true selves, unable to control their love for their own kind?

Even if they couldn’t control themselves, why did they have to target him? Cui Xisheng pinched his own cheek. He wasn’t a meat bun that people could just eat and never get hungry again.

Under the hungry gazes of two men, he couldn’t make sense of what was happening, so he simply buried his head in Meng Jiangtian’s back, refusing to look at anyone.

Officer Bai stretched his neck to keep watching Cui Xisheng but only saw a cute, fluffy head.

He couldn’t see those beautiful eyes, and his disappointment showed. But the round head was so pretty it almost drove him crazy, and he couldn’t resist staring at it again and again.

Meng Jiangtian saw how lewdly Officer Bai was staring at Cui Xisheng, and his expression darkened even further.

He really wanted to kill everyone who was eyeing Cui Xisheng. But his strength wasn’t enough yet. He needed to find a time to swallow another crystal core.

Meng Jiangtian rubbed his fingers, and the crystal cores in his space shifted around messily.

“Actually, the food was really brought back by Meng Jiangtian.”

Taking advantage of everyone’s distracted thoughts, the student council president’s little brain quickly turned, and after some time, he finally came up with an excuse to cover up the situation.

When he spoke, everyone’s eyes turned to him, and Cui Xisheng felt a lightness as he subconsciously relaxed.

The student council president took a deep breath, looked at the indignant Liu Anna, and continued, “Although the food was brought back by you, we’ve gone out to search for food together in the past, and we also contributed.”

“Later, we didn’t bring food back because all the nearby supermarkets were already looted. When we went further, we had to avoid zombies every day, and just getting back alive was already difficult. Carrying food back was even more dangerous.”

“But even knowing the danger, we still went out every day to risk our lives, all to bring food back for you.”

“Meng Jiangtian could bring back food because he is wind-based, and he can fly in the sky. The zombies can’t catch him.”

“He can drag food back using his wind ability, which doesn’t require him to exert much effort, so naturally, he brings back more than we do.”

“We had to use our own legs to run through the zombie encirclement, carrying as much food as possible to bring back for you.”
