Meng Jiangtian kept watching Cui Xisheng’s retreating figure as he left the cafeteria. He glanced at Qi Sheng and Bai Qianyu, who stood in his way, then turned expressionlessly and walked in the opposite direction.
"Brother Jiangtian, is that person your friend? I think I saw him at the school gate this morning," Liu Anna asked curiously, finding Cui Xisheng’s silhouette somewhat familiar.
"He’s not a friend," Meng Jiangtian replied coldly, spitting out the words without emotion. Seeing his dark expression, Liu Anna chose not to ask any more questions.
She had worked hard all day just to convince him to let her meet his friends again—she couldn't afford to mess things up now.
On the way back, Wang Zhonglin repeatedly tried to take Cui Xisheng’s pulse, but Cui Xisheng kept dodging him.
Although Cui Xisheng felt dizzy, he hadn’t lost consciousness and remained highly alert about his wrist.
"Cui Xisheng, you need to go to the hospital," Wang Zhonglin said with frustration after another failed attempt.
"Dormitory first." Cui Xisheng also felt that his condition warranted a hospital visit. He hadn't expected pregnancy to be this tough.
But he couldn’t just see any doctor—he needed to find Hao Ren. His phone, however, was still charging in the dorm, so he had to go back to get it and call Hao Ren.
"The dorm can wait. If you won’t let me check, then we’re going to the hospital. Huafeng Hospital is just around the corner—I’ll take you there."
"No, I need my phone first."
"Why are you still thinking about your phone at a time like this?" Wang Zhonglin shouted, clearly frustrated.
But Cui Xisheng was set on his decision. Despite his dizziness, he insisted on returning to the dorm first.
Unable to argue further, Wang Zhonglin simply picked Cui Xisheng up and carried him on his back, preventing any struggle. "I’m taking you to the hospital first. Qi Sheng and Bai Qianyu can bring your phone later. What’s so important on your phone that you’re this stubborn?"
"I need to find Hao Ren. Only him," Cui Xisheng muttered weakly, repeating Hao Ren’s name over and over.
"The dean? Will he even see you?" Hao Ren was a well-known figure among Huafeng Traditional Chinese Medicine University students. But someone of his status—would he really take care of Cui Xisheng?
"He will. I’ll only see him," Cui Xisheng said firmly. Though surprised, Wang Zhonglin decided to trust him.
A 15-minute walk only took a few minutes by taxi.
Wang Zhonglin helped the dizzy Cui Xisheng into the hospital, where a nurse immediately recognized him.
Just three days ago, this male student had been mistakenly diagnosed as pregnant! If the dean hadn’t discovered that the ultrasound machine was faulty, this student might have become a global sensation by now.
"Back again, huh? Ate too much again? You were just discharged this morning, and now you’re back," the nurse teased, recalling that his previous hospitalization was due to overeating barbecue.
"I need to see Dean Hao," Cui Xisheng said weakly. He felt horrible—his body was drained, his head was spinning, and yet, he just couldn’t lose consciousness. He didn’t even know he could be this resilient.
"Wait here, I’ll call him right away. He told us to notify him immediately if you ever came back." The nurse rushed off like the wind.
In no time, Hao Ren came running down from upstairs.
Seeing how pale Cui Xisheng was, he was alarmed. "Weren’t you discharged this morning? Why do you look so weak? Did you take the medicine I gave you? How do you feel now?"
"Dizzy, nauseous, no strength… I feel like fainting, but I just can’t," Cui Xisheng mumbled, hanging onto Wang Zhonglin for support, unable to stand on his own.
"Come upstairs right now."
Wang Zhonglin carried Cui Xisheng and followed Hao Ren into the emergency room. However, Wang Zhonglin was asked to wait outside in the hallway.
