When Tao Wen woke up again, he found himself lying on a luxurious golden bed.

This wasn't his place, and no one would waste money to joke around with him, so Tao Wen froze for a moment. When he sat up and saw the large screen in the room depicting an erotic scene, he realized he must have crossed over to another world.

He remembered the novel he'd just read about a prince and his shadow guard, where the descriptions of the prince's bedroom were identical to the one he was in. Based on the novel, there should be a shadow guard lying on the beam of the room, someone who would give up everything for their prince.

Thinking of this, Tao Wen suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head, and then he inherited the memories of the original owner, the prince.

After sorting through his memories, Tao Wen looked up but saw nothing. However, everything around him felt too real for him to doubt his situation. Without thinking, he yelled, "Xiao Er!" Yes, this shadow guard had the code name "Xiao Er."

Perhaps it was the author's bad taste, but no matter how odd the name was, it couldn't lessen Tao Wen's admiration for the loyal dog-like character. Someone willing to sacrifice everything for their lover was rare!

As soon as he spoke, a man appeared before him. He was tall and muscular, fitting Tao Wen's aesthetic perfectly. The man immediately knelt down.

So this was really a world from a novel? Tao Wen, who had only recently lost his boyfriend but still considered his friend a dear companion, now found himself questioning why the strong, imposing man in front of him was a "bottom" when he clearly looked like a "top" type?

Maybe the loyal Xiao Er had once been an "top" type, but his loyalty had made him a "bottom," or perhaps beneath his tough exterior, he secretly harbored the heart of a "bottom"?

Everything was a mystery. What Tao Wen knew for sure was that this man was a shadow guard personally trained by the late emperor to protect this prince. The emperor had chosen to send him to the prince rather than the emperor himself, hoping to ensure the prince's safety.

Unfortunately, the prince never stayed out of trouble and often challenged the emperor's limits, eventually bringing about his own death.

Though he had a loyal shadow guard sworn to protect him, after accidentally drugging and assaulting him, the prince became obsessed with tormenting him. Under the emperor's manipulations, he ultimately drove the shadow guard to death. In the end, the prince regretted it, but by then, he was left unprotected and died shortly after.

The story was tragic, but Tao Wen had to admit it was well-written, which was why he had finished reading it. As for the prince being a "scum shou," he became one after he realized he might have fallen for his shadow guard, a man who had protected him all his life. He couldn't accept this reality and mistook the guard for his deceased father and even believed the guard had an affair with the emperor. This misunderstanding led to the prince’s betrayal and cruelty toward his loyal protector.

The prince's scum behavior continued until the shadow guard, injured and on the brink of death, saved him one final time, only to die. Only then did the prince deeply regret his actions.

Eventually, the emperor appeared, and the prince realized the shadow guard had always been loyal only to him. But by then, it was too late, and the prince died soon after.

This was a tragedy. Tao Wen wondered where the story was now.

His memories were still jumbled, and just as he turned to look at the kneeling shadow guard, he saw the man’s handsome face, which bore signs of exhaustion and bloodshot eyes. A faint smell of blood lingered in the air.

Had the abuse already begun? Otherwise, how could the world’s strongest shadow guard be injured?

For now, the most important thing was to get the man to stand up—Tao Wen had never had anyone kneel before him!

"Stand up!" Tao Wen said, only to realize his throat was hoarse and painful as he spoke.

As a pampered prince, he never got hurt. Even when he caused a huge mess, this man would protect him without so much as a scratch. In fact, in the novel, the prince’s voice only became hoarse after the first time he and the loyal guard... After recalling this, Tao Wen realized that just half a month ago, the prince had gone out to cause trouble again, getting involved with a notorious figure in the martial world. After being drugged, he had forcefully taken advantage of his shadow guard.

After the guard helped him detox and brought him back, the prince had someone whip the guard, while he himself had caught a cold and lost his voice.

At that time, the prince wrongly believed the guard had ulterior motives, which is why he mistreated him. But now, Tao Wen just wanted to bang his chest and cry in despair—why did this loyal dog have to suffer?

The shadow guard, Xiao Er, had already stood up, his head lowered to avoid looking at Tao Wen. Even so, Tao Wen could tell that the man was much taller than him.

Hmm, was there still hope to turn this loyal dog into a loyal "top"? Please, don’t fall into the "bottom" role and never rise again!
