TIIGM Chapter 1: A Marriage Alliance

| Table of Contents | Next |

The foolish omega was going to meet an alpha today.

His father was the one who told him this news.

The alpha he was meeting today was also arranged by his family.

His father said this was called a marriage alliance.

The omega asked his father what "marriage alliance" meant.

His father told him that a marriage alliance meant forming a family with an alpha.

Forming a family! The little omega's eyes sparkled at the words. Was he going to become family with an alpha? Becoming family meant having someone to eat with, someone to sleep beside… That meant, on rainy days, he would never have to be afraid of lightning again!

The omega was very happy. He had fallen seriously ill when he was little, and since then, his reactions had always been slower than others'. At first, his father had been patient, but as time went on, that patience wore thin. Eventually, the omega was no longer seen as important.

His father, his younger brother, and his stepmother—they seemed to be the real family.

And he was just the extra one.

Because of this, the omega never had many friends, and no one really listened when he spoke.

But now, he was going to have his own family! The omega happily packed his belongings, bouncing with excitement.

The Sheng family’s house was huge. The omega followed an old butler, his steps light, his neck craned as he curiously looked around. There were a few blue flowers in the garden, a cheerful little bird flapped its wings on the tree near the entrance, and the sound of his suitcase wheels rolling across the pavement echoed in the air.

The omega was led into the reception room.

"Please wait here for a moment. The master will be here soon," the butler said, handing him a cup of tea.

"Okay! Got it!"

That "moment" turned into two hours.

Elsewhere, the alpha finally set down his work.

He had actually been in his study the entire time. The butler had informed him two hours ago that the Xu family had sent someone over. Xu Father had even sent a letter, filled with flattery, a stark contrast to the arrogance he used to display as his rival. Who knew where he had heard that Sheng Zhi liked simple-minded people? The very next day, he sent his own son over.

Hah.

Sheng Zhi had no interest in this. Love? True feelings?

None of that mattered to someone like him.

But he was at the right age, and his family was pressuring him. He needed someone by his side.

Who that person was—whether from the Xu family, the Wang family, or the Zheng family—he couldn’t care less.

Love?

That was impossible.

Absolutely impossible.

The butler, who had served Sheng Zhi for many years, knew his master's temperament well. Seeing how indifferent he was, the butler made no effort to hurry things along. The omega had been waiting in the reception room for nearly two hours, and even the tea hadn’t been refilled.

At this moment, the omega was still sitting in the reception room. His suitcase was neatly placed to the side. He sat up straight, well-behaved, but his bright eyes darted around curiously.

What does my husband look like? The omega lowered his head and adjusted his cuffs for the thirty-second time.

This was their first meeting—he had to leave a good impression!

The omega looked around the empty reception room and secretly practiced his greeting.

"Husband! Husband! My name is Xu Ke—like in 'Coke'!" No, no, that was too lively.

"Hello, my name is Xu Ke." Too serious.

"Sir—"

The butler opened the door for the alpha.

Sheng Zhi finally arrived.

Walking down the corridor, he saw a small figure from a distance. The omega was wearing a slightly formal outfit, facing away from him, muttering something to himself. Sometimes he tilted his head, looking troubled; other times, he raised his fists and did a few small air punches…

Energetic. Sheng Zhi thought instinctively.

No, noisy.

"Ahem—" The alpha deliberately cleared his throat, his expression serious. He needed to set some rules.

"Husband?" The omega was startled and turned around. As soon as he saw the alpha he had only known from photos, his eyes lit up with joy. "Husband! Husband!"

The omega’s eyes sparkled like they were filled with stars. He smiled, his eyes curving into crescent moons. Running over, his soft little hand naturally grabbed onto the alpha's.

"Husband, we’re family now!"

Author's note:

Alpha: I came here to set some rules! (Super serious)

*But… he called me husband… and held my hand…
