Recently, Lu Yan had suddenly become very busy. He often went out for several days in a row, taking on ghost-expelling jobs while also moonlighting as a feng shui consultant, completely sweeping away his former lazy homebody image.

So the moment Lu Yan came home, Ye Tong clung to him and wouldn’t let go, pouting like a lonely wife left at home. “You’re always out lately.”

Lu Yan: “I’m busy.”

Ye Tong: “You have someone else outside.”

Lu Yan: “I don’t.”

Ye Tong: “Then you have a ghost outside.”

Lu Yan said indifferently, “How many ghosts have you seen? Do you think all ghosts are as good-looking as you?”

Ye Tong beamed and playfully hit him. “Ah, don’t change the subject!”

Lu Yan kissed him. “I’m really busy. I need to start making money to support our home.”

Ye Tong protested, “But I don’t spend money.”

Lu Yan: “I want to save up to buy this house.”

Ye Tong’s eyes widened. “Why? Do you know how expensive the housing prices are here?”

Lu Yan said seriously, “You’re mine. How could I feel at ease leaving you in someone else’s hands?”

Ye Tong blushed. “What does that have to do with anything?”

Lu Yan sighed helplessly. “You were born from the accumulated spiritual energy of this old house over the years. You didn’t even know that yourself, did you?”

Ye Tong looked shocked. “…What! No wonder I don’t remember how I died!”

Lu Yan rubbed his forehead. “You’re really dumb.”

Ye Tong smacked him. “You always call me dumb!”

Lu Yan: “Because it’s true.”

Ye Tong: “I’m gonna hit you, hit you, hit you!”

Ye Tong asked Lu Yan, “What if one day you die? Will I become a wandering ghost again?”

Lu Yan held a cigarette between his lips. “I won’t reincarnate. I’ll stay here with you.”

Ye Tong’s eyes lit up. “Great! We’ll scare people together.”

For once, the usually aloof Lu Yan made a funny ghost face. “No, I’ll scare people and make a living.”

Ye Tong burst into laughter. “Then what about me?”

Lu Yan smiled gently. “You’ll be responsible for being beautiful.”

Ye Tong’s eyes sparkled. “Mhm! We’ll always be together.”

Lu Yan: “Until the building gets demolished.”

Ye Tong looked at him in despair. “…Demolish your head! Can’t you just say ‘until the end of time’?”

Lu Yan pulled Ye Tong into his arms, kissed his forehead, and whispered softly, “Until the end of time.”
