The man really liked that sky-blue little pillow—he took it with him wherever he went. Well, even grown men could have their own secret little preferences, right?
And since the little pillow often accompanied the man on his outings, they spent plenty of time together. This made the little pillow so happy that it could hardly ask for more. Thus, the man and his pillow lived a peaceful and warm daily life.
When the man drove to work, he would place the little pillow on the passenger seat. Because he left early in the morning and returned late at night, no one had ever noticed that he always carried a sky-blue little pillow with him.
When working in his office, the man would put the little pillow behind him, against the back of his chair. In moments like these, the little pillow felt as if it could wrap its arms around the man’s waist from behind. But if it actually did that, it would probably give the man a scare… So, the little pillow could only behave and rest quietly against the chair while taking a nap.
The little pillow loved basking in the sun. Since the man rarely went out on weekends, he would usually spend sunny afternoons on the balcony, lying on a recliner with the little pillow in his arms, lazily enjoying the warmth of the sunlight.
The winter sun was gentle, shining down and warming people to the core. The little pillow, softened by the sunlight, silently thought that this way, the man would find it even more comfortable to hold.
These blissful days passed quickly, but as summer approached, the little pillow began to grow anxious…
Though the man still held it often, it couldn't help but feel uneasy. After all, summer was hot, and the man surely wouldn't want to keep hugging it like this anymore. In winter, it could provide warmth, but in summer, it would turn into a little fireball—who would want to hug it and suffer?
But it had already gotten used to the man's embrace. The thought of returning to its lonely, desolate days made the little pillow unbearably sad.
However, this sadness didn’t last long. Soon enough, the little pillow realized how foolish it had been… It had completely forgotten that there was a home appliance in this world called an air conditioner.
