01
Midnight.
Lin Sen hungrily gazed at the naked, beautiful young man sleeping in his bed. He lifted the blanket and, in an extremely pervy manner, gave those two round, plump buttocks a squeeze!
The beautiful young man's name was Su Lan, and he was Lin Sen's boyfriend.
Su Lan was in a deep sleep, his delicate features illuminated by the warm yellow light of the bedroom lamp, looking as stunning as a painting.
Lin Sen couldn't hold back. He flipped over, pressed down on him, hugged the soft, smooth little thing in his arms, and bit the boy’s fair earlobe, his voice rough and full of desire: "I'm gonna f**k you!"
Su Lan let out a series of soft, happy little snores.
Lin Sen: "Wake up."
Su Lan: "Zzzzz..."
Lin Sen pinned his sleeping beauty under him and thoroughly indulged himself, positioning him however he pleased, satisfying his every whim. And yet...
Loneliness.
Utter loneliness.
Panting heavily, Lin Sen asked, "Feels good, baby?"
Su Lan: "Zzzzz..."
Lin Sen smacked Su Lan’s body. "Call me hubby."
Su Lan: "Zzzzz..."
Reaching the peak of pleasure, Lin Sen groaned, "Ugh—I'm about to come, let’s go together—"
Su Lan: "Zzzzz..."
Lin Sen angrily flipped the table: "F**k this, I want a divorce!"
Su Lan: "Zzzzz..."
02
Lin Sen carried Su Lan to the bathroom, cleaned him up, and then carried him back to bed.
Then Lin Sen took a shower himself.
By the time he returned to the bedroom, Su Lan was still sleeping, face down, not even moving an inch.
Worried his face would get imprinted from the cool bedding, Lin Sen gently turned him over.
Su Lan, the whole time: "Zzzzz..."
Filled with grief, Lin Sen angrily posted on a late-night relationship forum.
[Title: My wife sleeps 20 hours a day—what do I do? Urgent, online now.]
Post: My wife sleeps for 20 hours a day, spends three hours eating at a snail’s pace, and takes one full hour to bathe—there's not even time left for sex! What do I do? WHAT. DO. I. DO?!
[1st comment: Hahahahahahahaha!]
[2nd comment: Hahahahahahahahahaha!]
[3rd comment: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!]
[4th comment: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!]
[Lin Sen: "Excuse me? Is this really that funny? Where’s the damn sympathy?!"]
[26th comment: OP, does your wife have hypersomnia? I suggest a hospital visit.]
[27th comment (OP): Thanks, but no, he doesn’t. He’s perfectly healthy—he's just naturally this sleepy.]
[28th comment: No way. A healthy person sleeping that much? Is your wife a sloth?]
[29th comment: Hahahaha, a sloth!]
[30th comment: Hahahahahaha, a sloth!]
[31st comment: Hahahahahahahaha, a sloth!]
[32nd comment: Hahahahahahahahahaha, a sloth!]
Lin Sen angrily threw his phone: "F**k it, my wife is a sloth!"
03
Actually, Su Lan was a sloth.
More precisely, a sloth spirit.
And Lin Sen? He was the ancient tree that Su Lan clung to every day before gaining spiritual awareness.
Neither of them could quite remember when it all started, but for as long as they had memories, Su Lan had been clinging to Lin Sen, and the two had relied on each other in the rainforest.
Su Lan was extraordinarily lazy, almost never coming down from the tree. He slept for twenty hours a day and spaced out when he was awake.
The only difference between sleeping and being awake was whether his eyes were open or closed.
Lin Sen became sentient before Su Lan and spent his days controlling his vines to pluck leaves and feed them into Su Lan’s mouth. All Su Lan had to do was chew.
Whenever a harpy eagle tried to prey on Su Lan, Lin Sen would lash out with his vines, smacking the bird in the face, while Su Lan lazily watched them fight from his perch.
As a result, Su Lan was even lazier than the average sloth…
Over time, moss started growing on Su Lan’s body. Unable to tolerate it any longer, Lin Sen used his vines to dip into a puddle below and carefully groom him.
Su Lan, sluggish as ever: "This... is... my... camouflage..."
Lin Sen, firm and protective: "With me here, you don’t need camouflage."
Su Lan, belatedly realizing something, was shocked: "Oh... wow... I... can... talk..."
Lin Sen, exasperated: "Because you're about to gain spiritual awareness, obviously!"
Su Lan slowly revealed a smile: "Haha... even... I... can... become... a... spirit... despite... being... this... lazy..."
Lin Sen was so frustrated he nearly squirted tree sap: "I’ve been feeding you my spiritual energy every day! What did you think was happening?!"
Su Lan: "I... thought... I... was... just... smart..."
Lin Sen spat out a mouthful of ancient tree sap in sheer irritation: "I’ve been a spirit all alone—it’s boring. Let’s be together and see what it’s like to live as humans."
Su Lan: "Zzzzz…"
Lin Sen: "..."
04
That year, a torrential downpour swept through the rainforest.
The rain continued nonstop for days. Su Lan slept through the whole thing, and Lin Sen had no choice but to wrap him up in vines and cover him with leaves.
Warmth, shelter, and security—ensuring he wouldn’t fall from the tree.
Lin Sen sighed.
Su Lan was too lazy.
If not for him, Su Lan would’ve died long ago.
Days passed. The rain finally stopped.
Lowering his canopy, Lin Sen gazed at the small, curled-up figure nestled in his branches. He used his vines to peel back the leaves, then unraveled the layers of coiled vines.
And beneath them, fast asleep—was a pale, delicate boy.
05
The boy had long lashes like tiny fans, soft, rosy lips, and impossibly fair skin.
Lin Sen swallowed hard and asked cautiously, "Did you transform?"
The boy: "Zzzzz..."
Lin Sen couldn’t take it anymore and poked him awake with a vine. "Are you a sloth?"
Su Lan stretched lazily: "Mmm..."
Lin Sen was overjoyed: "Look at yourself!"
Su Lan slowly lowered his head and then slowly smiled: "Oh... my... god... I... evolved..."
Lin Sen fell silent for a moment, then shifted into human form himself.
His human form was taller, older than Su Lan, with a rugged, ancient kind of handsomeness.
Su Lan smiled as he looked at him: "Hand...some..."
Lin Sen smiled too.
Moving in slow motion, Su Lan hugged Lin Sen tightly.
Their two bare bodies pressed intimately together, making Lin Sen’s face burn red. Something stirred within him—something new, something strange.
Lin Sen: "W-why are you hugging me?!"
Su Lan: "To... sleep..."
And with that, Su Lan closed his eyes and fell asleep: "Zzzzz..."
Lin Sen stared at Su Lan’s soft, rosy lips for a long time.
Then, as if possessed, he clumsily lowered his head and brushed his lips against them.
Su Lan: "Zzzzz..."
Lin Sen: "Ahhhhh, what am I doing?!"
Panicked, Lin Sen hugged Su Lan and instantly transformed back into an ancient tree.
The entire tree blushed—its once lush green leaves turning into a deep autumn red.
