AHEIAID Chapter 64: I Can Handle It

Unknowingly, Joey had been living in this unfamiliar future world for over a year.
The little goose in the incubator was growing at a visible rate, like a balloon being inflated, finally transforming from a tiny raisin into a big watermelon.
Soon, it would be time for the baby to leave the incubator and officially meet his dad and father.
Since "natural birth" wasn't an option, the doctors decided to bring the baby out of the incubator on the expected due date. To prepare, Joey specifically bought a calendar, circled the due date, and marked off each passing day with a little red X.
He was eagerly counting down the days.
At first, he hadn’t been that fond of the baby. After all, as a man, the idea of giving birth made him feel a little uneasy.
But ever since the baby was removed from his body, Joey couldn't help but feel an invisible thread connecting them, as if some mysterious force was calling out to him, tying him and his baby together with a fine red string.
His fatherly instinct to dote on his child grew stronger every day.
At the same time, as his body recovered—perhaps due to his happiness—he could feel that the man accompanying him was in an increasingly good mood. The aura he gave off was unbelievably sweet, soft, and seductive!
It felt as if every glance he gave was bubbling with pink hearts.
On a Rare Day Off – Heine’s New Estate
Joey tilted his head back as a pair of cold, pale hands brushed aside his forehead curls, gently applying a thin layer of translucent ointment onto the scar above his brow. The soothing motion massaged the raised skin that itched slightly.
Underneath his flowing golden hair, his long, downward-angled golden-green eyes shimmered like crystal coated in a glossy layer of light.
With the faint upward curve at the corner of his lips, he looked exceptionally tender.
"Does it hurt?"
Joey stared at his partner’s godlike Nordic beauty, completely lovestruck.
"Hehe, no, it doesn’t."
Garius chuckled softly, leaning in closer.
"Want me to blow on it?"
"Ahem… B-blowing on it sounds good too…"
With his pinky finger holding back his falling black strands, Garius pressed his lips against the freshly applied ointment on Joey’s scar and gently blew on it.
The cool air brushed against his skin, and the more Garius blew, the hotter Joey's face became.
Secretly, he sneaked a glance at the man who was now right beside him, close enough that he could feel his scent and warmth. He was even more handsome than before—several hundred times more!
Joey couldn't tell if Garius was doing it on purpose, but he was definitely being flirted with to the max.
Meanwhile, the system watched through the communicator as the two locked eyes—either absentmindedly or, more likely, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. The distance between them shrank; one of them closed his eyes instinctively, while the other cradled his partner's head, pressing their lips together in a slow, lingering kiss.
What started as applying ointment had somehow turned into a blushing, intoxicating make-out session.
Expressionless, the system censored their mouths and, with a deadpan look, ordered two crates of insulin online.
Hmph. Damn it, what was with these two lately? They couldn’t even drink water or eat a meal without kissing… What? Did his lips taste that good?!
Was it mating season or something?
Spring had long passed, for crying out loud!
Damn it!
By the time the kiss ended, their foreheads were touching, bodies pressed closely together.
"Joey…"
Garius's hand tangled in Joey’s curls, his golden-green eyes dark with desire as they fixated on the trembling eyelashes of his embarrassed partner. His tone was thick with longing.
Joey’s heart pounded wildly, heat rushing to his face, though he couldn't help but find the situation amusing.
"What’s up?"
How did his cold and abstinent Supervisor suddenly turn into someone who circled around him all day, begging for cuddles?
Garius didn’t respond.
Instead, he buried his face in Joey’s neck, his muscles tense as he carefully controlled his strength while pressing Joey down onto the bed. Joey, unaware, simply went along with it, lying back and giggling as the cool tip of Garius’s nose tickled his neck.
"Stop it, hahaha! Your nose is so cold—haha, quit rubbing against me…"
"Oh my god, hahaha!"
Joey curled up, laughing uncontrollably and rolling across the bed, instantly killing the mood.
With both hands propped on either side of him, Garius stared down at Joey, who was pursing his lips to hold back laughter, his expression momentarily flashing with frustration.
"Joey."
"Yeah?"
Still giggling like a deflating balloon, Joey wiped the tears from his eyes and looked up at him with amusement.
"Why are you calling my name?"
"…Nothing."
Strict family discipline made it hard for Garius to voice what he truly wanted, even if the person in question was his legal spouse.
But he had been holding back for too long.
And his little partner was just completely oblivious.
His lips parted, then shut tightly. After a moment of silence, Garius pushed himself up and sat at the edge of the bed, his expression unreadable, an air of unsatisfied frustration radiating from him.
Joey, confused by the sudden mood shift, scooted closer and leaned against Garius’s shoulder. He peered at his face and asked softly, "What’s wrong? Tell me."
But when Garius looked at Joey’s puzzled face, he hesitated before muttering, "I have things to do," and left the bedroom.
Joey blinked. "System, why is he mad all of a sudden? He was fine just now…"
As an observer, the system was equally baffled.
[You… seriously didn’t pick up on his hints?]
"Hint?"
[Yeah.]
Joey was momentarily stunned.
Wasn’t Garius just being affectionate with him? What did that have to do with hints?
Wait—did this mean…
"Garius's birthday is coming up, and he wants me to surprise him but is too shy to ask directly?"
System: …
Feeling that he’d figured it out, Joey grinned. "Haha, this is nothing! I already knew his birthday was in a week, and I’ve already prepared his gift! Let me go drop him a little hint."
Excited, he jumped off the bed and ran off to find Garius.
The system, still in shock at Joey’s unique thought process, was speechless.
By the time Joey found Garius—who had been about to take a cold shower, his face stiff—he smirked and winked. "Garius, I know what you’re trying to tell me!"
Garius, who hadn’t expected his little partner to catch on so quickly, froze, his hand tightening around his robe. His eyes flickered. "You… do?"
"Of course." Joey lifted his chin proudly. Yep, Garius totally wanted a birthday present! Haha, I’m such a genius!
"Don’t worry. We can’t do it now, but in seven days, I promise to give you a big surprise!"
Garius’s gaze darkened slightly. "Seven days later… It doesn’t have to be too surprising."
You just recovered. Too many tricks… might not be good.
But Joey, thinking Garius was worried about expenses, waved a hand dismissively and said mysteriously, "Relax, I can handle it."
After all, it was a handmade gift! It wouldn’t cost a thing!
"Really?"
"Yes! I promise!"
“…Fine." Garius smiled, leaning down to plant a firm kiss on Joey’s cheek. "Thank you, Joey."
"Haha, no need to thank me." Joey patted his chest confidently. "It’s my duty!"
Garius's smile deepened.
Meanwhile, the system sighed in despair.
This human… was hopeless!!!
