Qian Ji stared at the human in front of him for a long time.

His majestic and ruthless eyes were ice-cold.

"You must have misunderstood something, human," he said in a deep voice. "I will bestow treasures and other things that ordinary people cannot obtain. All you need to do is fulfill the contract, serve me, and bear my offspring as soon as possible. As for anything else? That’s none of your concern."

Throughout his life, he had encountered too many humans who, upon recognizing his true form, would cling to him incessantly. They either wanted wealth and power or dreamed of immortality and endless riches.

Qian Ji’s lips moved slightly, a faint smile appearing on his face—yet it carried no warmth, only cold cruelty and mockery.

"I have no intention of treating you as a wife or concubine. I will not marry a human. A short life span, greedy nature… marrying you would be an insult to me and to the dragon race. Do you understand?"

Ruan Xingzhou paused, then nodded silently. "I understand."

Qian Ji, satisfied, withdrew his gaze.

It seems the best way to deal with humans is to harshly scold them, embarrass them, make them give up, make them—

"I understand. Seduction doesn't work."

Ruan Xingzhou grabbed his chin thoughtfully, then took out a small notebook from his trouser pocket, crossed out one line, and said seriously to Qian Ji:

"Let's move on to the next method to build affection."

Qian Ji: "…"
You don't understand anything!!

Ruan Xingzhou: "What's wrong?"

Qian Ji: "…Don’t you know what it means to be humiliated?"

And yet he still moves closer after being told all that?

Ruan Xingzhou shook his head. "No, I have lacked some emotions since I was young."

"………"

Qian Jii’s mouth twitched.

Flipping to the next page of the notebook, Ruan Xingzhou very seriously and solemnly asked, "Let’s proceed to the next step, Qian Ji. Would you like to hear some love words?"

The young dragon lord, praised countless times with flowery words, snorted and smiled meaningfully: "Heh~ go ahead."

He wanted to hear just how this damn human would try to woo him! After he finished, he would fiercely ridicule and humiliate him!

Seeing Qian Ji’s interest, Ruan Xingzhou smiled lightly, held the notebook, and, as if reciting an essay under a red flag, solemnly and seriously read aloud:

"I love you like cats love fish, dogs love meat, and Ultraman loves fighting monsters."

Young Dragon Lord: "…"

"I love you, love you like a mouse loves rice."

Young Dragon Lord: "…"

"I love the stars, I love spring, I love flowers, but most of all, I love your eyes, where the whole world exists."

The young dragon lord, whose eyes were beginning to spark with anger: "…"

After reading the three lines, Ruan Xingzhou looked up and, seeing Qian Ji's expression, frowned and tilted his head. He asked suspiciously: "Huh? Why does your face look green? Are your kidneys bad?"

"GET OUT!!!"

(Contract, contract, can't burn him, can't burn him…)

Qian Ji saw Ruan Xingzhou's innocent expression, and the veins on his forehead bulged.

Clenching his self-control, trying not to roast the damn human alive, Qian Ji rubbed his fingers between his brows, his pupils turning into golden dragon eyes.

Even after being cursed at, Ruan Xingzhou didn’t look wronged. Instead, he sighed and crossed another strategy off the notebook.

"These were the highest liked love confessions I found online," he said disapprovingly, as if Qian Ji were being unreasonable.

He added, "You're way too hard to please."

"…………"

Maybe burning him would be better after all, Qian Ji thought. Forget the contract—burn this damn human!!

Already unable to control the dragon horns sprouting from his head, his brown skin showing dark red tattoos that began to writhe like living things, Qian Ji was just about to incinerate the human into ashes when—

There was a knock on the door.

"Who?"

Ruan Xingzhou frowned. Usually at this time in the morning, only Secretary Wang would come deliver reports. Being interrupted now made him slightly annoyed. He shoved the notebook back into his pocket.

Yet he remained seated close to Qian Ji.

Qian Ji, not wanting to expose himself to other humans, also frowned in displeasure. His golden pupils blinked once, as if a white film passed across them, and the next second, they turned back into ordinary black irises. His dragon horns and the sparks dancing in his palms also disappeared.

"President Ruan, it’s me. I’m here to deliver the project documents you requested yesterday."

Ruan Xingzhou thought for a moment—yes, he had indeed assigned a new intern secretary some tasks.

"Come in," he said.

The next moment, the door opened, and a woman with a devilish figure and an angelic face walked in, stepping lightly on stiletto red heels. She carried a blue file folder and smiled brightly.

As she approached, a sweet, gentle fragrance wafted over—not vulgar, but rather sweet and delicate.

When she handed the documents over with both hands, Qian Ji keenly caught the look in her eyes as she glanced at Ruan Xingzhou.

It was a look he was all too familiar with, having seen it countless times in the past.

But facing the woman’s sweet smile and tender, flirtatious gaze, Ruan Xingzhou merely flipped through the documents with his slender fingers, his face—no less handsome than a celebrity’s—remaining icy.

"These figures and these are just surface data. What I need is real sales data. Such obvious mistakes—"

Ruan Xingzhou’s brows furrowed and his voice lowered.

"Before you gave me this file, did you not have Secretary Wang check it?"

The woman's sweet smile froze on her face. In the next second, she quickly adjusted her expression and, using a pitiful, apologetic tone, said:

"I’m sorry, President Ruan, it’s my mistake. Secretary Wang was too busy, so I... I did check it four or five times myself, but still made these errors. I’m really sorry..."

Qian Ji scoffed inwardly.

An apology disguised as an excuse.

Humans were still the same, even after thousands of years.

Qian Ji slightly turned his head, his eyes shifting to the human sitting beside him.

Beautiful woman, 'sincere' apology, a ready-made excuse—he was curious to see Ruan Xingzhou's reaction.

'Faced with this, he should just let it slide,' the young woman also thought.

But they were destined to be disappointed.

Because they completely underestimated what a truly emotionless yet sick in the head cold CEO was like.

"If she doesn’t have time, do you think I have time to pick out such low-level mistakes for you?" Ruan Xingzhou said, expressionless. "If I have to do this kind of work, then why do I even hire people like you?"

The woman: "………"

Wait, this isn’t how it’s supposed to go!
Shouldn’t the CEO notice her hardworking attitude, pretty face, and start treating her differently!?

Qian Ji slightly raised an eyebrow, then felt his mood lighten a little as he caught a glimpse of the woman’s almost twisted expression.

Ruan Xingzhou didn’t find the woman’s beauty appealing at all. Instead, he frowned even deeper.

"What’s your name?"

The rattled secretary clenched her fists.

"My name is Yuna..."

Ruan Xingzhou nodded, closed the file, and tossed it onto the coffee table.

"Remember, Aierslan is a multinational corporation. We offer the best salaries and benefits in the country. In return, we require the best work performance. I know some people put too much faith in their looks, but here we require zero-error confidence. Especially for someone in the CEO's office—you must aim for years, even decades, of zero mistakes."

Facing employees, Ruan Xingzhou was the perfect cold CEO. His tone wasn’t harsh, but his cold eyes were enough to freeze the secretary’s hidden ambitions.

She really panicked, her eyes welling up with tears.

Getting into this company meant she had outstanding academics, and she had worked so hard to land the job. The salary and benefits were leagues better than even other big companies' offers.

If she got fired during her internship...

Yuna didn’t even dare think about it. Her eyes turned red.

"President Ruan, I’m really sorry... I’ll revise it immediately!"

But Ruan Xingzhou still didn’t soften.

Just when she thought it was all over, the friend sitting next to President Ruan suddenly spoke.

"Let it go," Qian Ji said with a lazy smile.

Ruan Xingzhou glanced at him, and after a few seconds, surprisingly relented.

"Go back. Remember—this is your last chance."

He told Yuna. She immediately breathed a huge sigh of relief, quickly nodded, gave Qian Ji a grateful look, grabbed the file, and rushed out.

As the woman left, Qian Ji casually picked up a magazine to read.

But Ruan Xingzhou suddenly spoke: "Do you like her?"

Qian Ji turned his head and saw a faint trace of displeasure on the annoying human’s face.

This human could get angry too?

Qian Ji became a little interested. Smirking slightly, he teased, "What if I do?"

Would he get angry? Heh, he was looking forward to it.

Ruan Xingzhou thoughtfully pinched his chin, thought for a few seconds, then said:

"Then I’ll fire her."

"…………"

"Why?"

Ruan Xingzhou looked at him very seriously.

"Because I’m the CEO. My subordinates aren’t allowed to steal my man."

"…………"

Maybe burning him is still the best option, Qian Ji thought, grinding his teeth.
