🌷Chapter 1-90

Watching Su Ning flee, Fan Xin cursed him for being spineless in her heart. Such a good opportunity, and he couldn’t seize it. Look at Chu Zichen—he clung to Gu Lingfeng like a leech, never leaving his side. If only Su Ning could learn something from him.

She forgot that Su Ning was just an ordinary man, someone who could survive anywhere, unlike Chu Zichen who needed to rely on others to survive in the entertainment industry.

After Su Ning left, Fan Xin found no reason to stay either. She and Gu Lingfeng had once been lovers and now were in a boss-employee relationship, but she wasn’t trying to suck up to him. If not for Su Ning, she wouldn’t have bothered talking to Gu Lingfeng this much.

“The next scene is mine, so I’ll stop chatting with you,” Fan Xin said as she stood up.

Chu Zichen was more than happy for Fan Xin to leave. Gu Lingfeng had come to see him, but this woman had taken up so much of his time. Gu Lingfeng was busy, and he didn’t spend much time with him.

Now that these two annoying people had left, Chu Zichen saw an opportunity to please Gu Lingfeng.

He invited Gu Lingfeng to sit in his lounge chair, then squatted down by Gu Lingfeng’s feet, acting cute like a cat.

“Lingfeng, how long can you stay here? We haven’t had a date in so long. How about I take you around the area tonight? It may be desolate, but the view is still beautiful.” Chu Zichen placed his hands on Gu Lingfeng’s knees, looking up at the man.

His delicate features, young and full of boyish charm, were accentuated as he tilted his head, showing off his sharp jawline and slightly raised, narrow eyes, giving off a seductive, affectionate vibe.

Gu Lingfeng reached out and pinched Chu Zichen’s chin, teasing him by gently scratching with his fingers, “If you behave, I’ll spend more time with you.”

Chu Zichen immediately grabbed Gu Lingfeng’s large hand and nodded enthusiastically, “I’m obedient. I listen to you the most. Whatever you tell me to do, I’ll do it.” He paused and gazed into Gu Lingfeng’s eyes, lowering his voice. “Anyway... you can check anytime.”

He smiled coyly, biting his lip and throwing a flirtatious look at Gu Lingfeng, his flushed cheeks and dreamy eyes making him look like a little temptress. If it were any other man, they’d probably have fallen for it by now.

Gu Lingfeng’s gaze darkened, and his fingers that were holding Chu Zichen’s chin slid up to trace the smooth, warm skin of his face. His voice was calm and indifferent, as though he were completely disinterested.

“What’s all this nonsense in broad daylight?”

Chu Zichen pouted, holding onto the man’s hand and whining, “It’s been so many days since we’ve seen each other. Don’t you miss me at all? I don’t care, I want you to have dinner with me tonight. And I want to go to that steak restaurant I like. The food there is great, and you can see the entire film set. The night view is amazing; I want you to come with me.”

Occasional flirting like this was all part of the fun. And with a face that he liked, especially in bed, Chu Zichen’s skills were quite good, so Gu Lingfeng was generally satisfied with him as a lover.

He patted Chu Zichen’s cheek. Though he didn’t smile, his expression wasn’t as stern as before. He relaxed and spread his legs as he sat, “I’ll take you after you finish shooting.”

Chu Zichen immediately cheered up, “Thank you, Lingfeng! After dinner, then—”

Gu Lingfeng raised a hand to stop him. Chu Zichen pouted, frustrated. Dinner was nice, but he wanted more than that. Yet Gu Lingfeng clearly wasn’t interested in hearing it, so Chu Zichen didn’t dare continue. He knew better than to upset Gu Lingfeng.

Meanwhile, staff and actors were receiving red envelopes, and Su Ning was handing out snacks. Though they were just small snacks, Gu Lingfeng had his assistant buy imported goods, which weren’t available in regular supermarkets, so everyone was grateful. They thanked Gu Lingfeng and Su Ning in turn.

“These are all from Mr. Gu. You should thank him,” Su Ning said with a smile.

“Of course, Mr. Gu should be thanked. But shouldn’t we also thank the person who got Mr. Gu to come to the set?” Fan Xin casually remarked while opening a pack of cookies and stuffing one into her mouth, crunching loudly.

“Got Mr. Gu to come to the set?”

Suddenly, all eyes turned to Chu Zichen, their expressions complicated.

Ever since Gu Lingfeng’s appearance, Chu Zichen had been so obvious about his behavior. Even those who didn’t know about his relationship with Gu Lingfeng before now understood. Most people in the crew didn’t have a good opinion of Chu Zichen. He treated the staff terribly, barking orders and commanding them as if they were his servants. He was rude to everyone except for the higher-ranking Fan Xin, and nearly every actor in the crew had been bullied by him.

Now, asking them to thank Chu Zichen for the red envelopes and snacks was not something everyone was willing to do.

Seeing the conflicted expressions of those around her, Fan Xin rolled her eyes, no longer eating her cookies, “Who said Gu Lingfeng came here for him? Couldn’t it be for someone else?”

“Someone else?” Several staff members exchanged confused looks. If Gu Lingfeng came to their set, and it wasn’t to visit Chu Zichen, who else was he here to see?

Su Ning immediately felt a twinge of unease, fearing that Fan Xin might stir up more trouble. Without looking, he grabbed some snacks and handed them to her, “Hey Xin Jie, this one’s really good. I’ve tried it, you should taste it.”

He then handed some to the others, “Who cares who Gu Lingfeng came for? We got the red envelopes and snacks. Isn’t that enough? Besides, the director and Mr. Gu know each other. Maybe he came to see the director.”

Everyone laughed, agreeing that Su Ning’s words made sense. No matter who Gu Lingfeng came for, the benefits were real.

Fan Xin shot Su Ning a half-smile but didn’t reveal anything.

While the group laughed and chatted, Su Ning easily bonded with everyone. This made it all the more apparent that the atmosphere between Gu Lingfeng and Chu Zichen had grown colder.

Gu Lingfeng noticed the commotion on the other side and casually glanced over. His eyes landed on Su Ning, who was smiling comfortably, but his expression remained unchanged. After a brief glance, he turned his attention elsewhere, as if the look was just a passing glance.

Chu Zichen, following Gu Lingfeng’s gaze, sneered, “Sycophant.”

Gu Lingfeng glanced at him, and immediately, Chu Zichen broke into a bright smile, “I’m a sycophant, but only to you, Lingfeng.” He then placed his chin on Gu Lingfeng’s knee, gazing up at him, winking playfully.

He certainly resembled a small puppy begging for attention from its master.
