Meng Jiangtian put down the cucumber, took the kitchen knife, and smiled as he said, “President, it’s obvious you’ve never cooked before.”

“When cooking, you first wash the vegetables thoroughly in a basin, then chop them up with the knife on the cutting board. Then, put oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and various seasonings into the pan, and stir-fry with a spatula. Finally, you need bowls and chopsticks to eat. Look at this kitchen—it’s so clean, it looks like it’s not for human use. You can’t cook without the proper tools. It would be trouble if you didn’t go and get them. They’re upstairs, and I’ve already brought them all; just go look for them.”

“Meng Jiangtian, don’t go too far!” The student council president could no longer tolerate it, gritting his teeth and shouting angrily.

“I have more to go further. Want to try?” A gust of wind unexpectedly wrapped around the student council president’s neck.

The student council president suddenly felt a sharp pain in his neck, and a streak of blood began to flow down into his clothes.

When did this wind wrap around him? The student council president was shocked and instinctively tried to resist with his water-based ability.

However, his soft water flow was effortlessly pierced by the wind, unable to stop it at all.

“Meng Jiangtian, don’t mess around. I’ll go and get it,” the student council president said in a panic, as a second sharp pain came from his neck, the blood from the first wound not even coagulated before the second wound began to bleed.

Flustered, the student council president finally softened his tone.

“Thank you for your trouble, President.” Meng Jiangtian was pleased and withdrew the wind, saying politely.

The student council president, trembling as he held his neck, felt a chill from Meng Jiangtian’s insincere smile.

He knew he was no match for Meng Jiangtian, but the brief encounter had still surprised him.

He never expected that he wouldn’t even have a chance to resist against Meng Jiangtian. If Meng Jiangtian had wanted to kill him, he would have been dead by now.

This crushing disparity in strength filled the student council president with fear and jealousy.

As he returned upstairs, he saw a mud wall blocking the way, with Zhao Huanrui inside, eating and drinking heartily. Annoyed, he said, “Stop eating, aren’t you afraid that Meng Jiangtian will eat you? Go and get the tools for cooking.”

Zhao Huanrui, who had just intended to eat a box of eight-treasure porridge, had his appetite awakened after finishing the first box. After hesitating, he finally couldn’t resist the temptation and grabbed another braised chicken leg.

Having not eaten meat in a week, Zhao Huanrui quickly devoured the chicken leg, chewing happily, his hunger only growing.

He thought to himself, since he had already eaten an extra chicken leg, another bread wouldn’t matter, so he grabbed a bread.

Just as he was eating, the student council president stood at the wall with a black face, interrupting his thoughts of grabbing another sausage.

Zhao Huanrui came from an ordinary family, so he wasn’t unfamiliar with cooking. Meng Jiangtian had placed all the necessary tools together, and Zhao Huanrui quickly found everything that was needed.

A large pile of pots, bowls, and other utensils was carried back to the room by the student council president, who felt humiliated but could do nothing about it.

After checking everything, Meng Jiangtian nodded in satisfaction. “President, you were indeed a top student, thinking of tools I didn’t even mention. Since everything’s ready, could you get some water to wash the vegetables?”

Reluctantly, the student council president washed the vegetables while Meng Jiangtian stood by, giving orders without lifting a finger.

Cui Xisheng secretly watched from the bedroom door, feeling pleased as he saw how Meng Jiangtian directed both of them around.

With the power out due to the apocalypse, the meat in the freezer had gone bad after being left for seven days. Meng Jiangtian hadn’t taken any of it. Instead, he took two salted sausages from the roof and used them to stir-fry a dish.

Meng Jiangtian personally fried the vegetables, as he didn’t trust the student council president to cook properly.

The smell of the oil and smoke wafted out the window, causing the zombies below to stir in a frenzy, gathering and howling at the bottom of the building.

Meng Jiangtian was annoyed by the noise, so he sent a breeze outside to silence them.

The breeze, as if responding to his signal, increased in speed and turned into sharp wind blades. A large number of zombies had their heads cut off in an instant, and their screams ceased.

The student council president, wiping down the furniture with water, shivered as the noise from the zombies suddenly stopped. He was beginning to realize that Meng Jiangtian’s strength was beyond his imagination.

If he had been tasked with dealing with all those zombies... The student council president sighed in frustration. He couldn’t beat them all and would probably end up running away.

Cui Xisheng, who had also heard the sudden silence, curiously looked out the window. The sight of so much blood and decapitated zombies was so shocking that he couldn’t help but vomit.

Hearing his stomach-churning retching from the kitchen, Meng Jiangtian immediately stopped cooking and hurriedly ran into the bedroom.

Cui Xisheng was kneeling on the floor, vomiting intensely, and Meng Jiangtian quickly moved to support him. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling dizzy or tight in the chest?”

Cui Xisheng shook his head. “I’m not anemic; I just got sickened by the sight of the zombies outside.”

“Zombies?” Meng Jiangtian relaxed a bit, realizing that Cui Xisheng was only distressed by the gruesome sight.

"You shouldn’t have looked outside," Meng Jiangtian said with a slight laugh, shaking his head.

“Don’t blame me, you didn’t warn me. The noise from the zombies stopped suddenly, and I got worried!” Cui Xisheng explained, feeling embarrassed.

"Alright, alright, my fault. Let me help you back to bed. The food’s ready, though. Are you feeling like eating?" Meng Jiangtian, seeing Cui Xisheng still unwell, apologized.

"After throwing up, I’m actually starving. Can you clean that mess up first?" Cui Xisheng, having grown accustomed to the smell of zombies, was already feeling better but didn’t want to look at the mess.

“Sure, wait for a bit.” Meng Jiangtian wiped the sweat off Cui Xisheng’s forehead and left the bedroom, calling to the student council president, “Go clean it up.”

The student council president reluctantly obeyed, bringing water and a cloth, but his face turned red with embarrassment as he wiped the floor.

Cui Xisheng, sitting on the bed, watched the student council president’s every move, feeling a sense of satisfaction as the president awkwardly cleaned up the mess.

Afterward, Meng Jiangtian returned with food, and Cui Xisheng eagerly dug into the meal.

Despite the lack of fresh meat, the stir-fried cucumber with ham, stir-fried potatoes, and scrambled eggs with tomatoes still tasted incredible.

"Slow down, I’m not going to take it from you," Meng Jiangtian said as he placed his own bowl of rice aside, watching Cui Xisheng devour his meal.

“I haven’t had food like this in ages,” Cui Xisheng said, eagerly asking for more. “Still got more?”

Meng Jiangtian, feeling a little guilty for not calculating the time it would take for the energy crystals to return, watched as Cui Xisheng hungrily ate, glad to see his friend recovering.

Cui Xisheng devours his meal, feeling the warmth of food after the long hunger in the apocalypse.
