AAISBMEBF Chapter 82: News About Dean Hao
ANNOUNCEMENT
Completed chapter is on my ko-fi page, thank you๐๐๐
"Are you really pregnant?" Meng Jiangtian felt like he was dreaming, constantly inspecting the man's stomach.
"This is the check-up he did a few days ago. You're a doctor, you should be able to understand it, right?" The woman handed Meng Jiangtian a piece of paper.
It was an ultrasound report, and the image clearly showed a two-month pregnancy.
The name on the report was Zheng Ou.
"Are you Zheng Ou?" Meng Jiangtian asked the pregnant man.
"Yes," Zheng Ou nodded.
"Who got you pregnant?"
"I did." The man next to Zheng Ou admitted straightforwardly.
"Where did you do this ultrasound? A man pregnant? I haven't heard of such big gossip."
"We had our people do the check-up. If you want to have Cui Xisheng checked too, I can arrange it for you," another girl in the room said.
"Who are you?" Meng Jiangtian asked as he looked at the girl.
"I forgot to introduce us after you've been here for so long."
Lin Weihong suddenly spoke up, introducing, "Zheng Ou, He Huan. They were a couple before the apocalypse.
Wei Lingling, Wei Lin, they were also a couple before the apocalypse.
I’m Lin Weihong, just a lonely soul," she said, winking at Meng Jiangtian.
"You told me before that I should transfer abilities into Cui Xisheng's belly. What's going on with that?" Meng Jiangtian ignored Lin Weihong’s flirtatious wink and coldly returned the ultrasound report, asking.
"The baby in the belly absorbs the mother's nutrients. A man's body doesn't naturally have organs to supply nutrients for two lives.
So when a man gets pregnant, the baby absorbs the man's own nutrients. If the nutrients aren't enough, the baby will slowly drain the man's life. He lost thirty pounds in the first month when he was pregnant. He looked like a skeleton. When he went to the hospital, the doctors just said it was anemia.
No medicine or food worked, and he almost died from the baby absorbing all his nutrients. He Huan desperately tried using his abilities to keep him alive.
Turns out, by chance, the baby absorbed the energy from the abilities instead of taking nutrients from his body. Now look at him, he's gained weight, and his stomach even has fat."
"I’ve seen Cui Xisheng from afar. His face is bad, pale like a ghost, and he’s so thin his clothes don’t fit.
Isn't he suffering from severe anemia? Also, he's very drowsy. If he keeps going like this, he might be close to ascending," Lin Weihong explained.
What Lin Weihong said perfectly matched Cui Xisheng's situation.
Meng Jiangtian furrowed his brows. He recalled how Cui Xisheng had been so anxious before, not letting him check his pulse. He probably knew he was pregnant.
Such a big thing, he’d been hiding it from him. If Meng Jiangtian hadn’t come here today, he would never have known, and would’ve thought that Cui Xisheng was just suffering from severe anemia.
If this goes on, he might lose Cui Xisheng, and even the baby.
Thinking about how Cui Xisheng had kept this from him for so long, Meng Jiangtian was both angry and distressed. That unlucky kid, when he gets back, he’s definitely going to take his pants off and slap him with the shoe sole to make him learn a lesson.
While Meng Jiangtian stood there thinking about punishing Cui Xisheng, Lin Weihong thought he still didn’t believe her and exchanged a look with Zheng Ou.
Zheng Ou understood immediately and pulled He Huan's arm, acting cute. "Honey, I’m hungry, I need your abilities."
He Huan cooperated and placed his hand on Zheng Ou’s stomach. A faint yellow earth-based ability emitted a soft glow.
A weak life force floated from Zheng Ou’s stomach, happily absorbing the ability energy from He Huan’s hand.
Zheng Ou really was pregnant.
Meng Jiangtian stared at Zheng Ou, suddenly thinking that he and Cui Xisheng seemed a little different.
"Do men who get pregnant suddenly become more attractive?" Meng Jiangtian scrutinized Zheng Ou, feeling no attraction at all.
"Not really," Lin Weihong looked at Zheng Ou, not feeling anything either.
"You don't feel anything?" Meng Jiangtian looked at Wei Lin.
Cui Xisheng seemed to attract mostly men, but Liu Anna, who lived with him, felt nothing for him, even disliking him.
Wei Lin looked at Zheng Ou without any particular feeling, shook his head, and hugged Wei Lingling. He still preferred delicate and soft girls.
Meng Jiangtian frowned. Zheng Ou and Cui Xisheng’s situations didn’t seem exactly the same. These people’s words couldn't be entirely trusted.
"We’re not experts in this area. Zheng Ou’s case was a fluke that we discovered. We’re telling you this because we don’t want Cui Xisheng to lose his life for no reason.
We’re also asking for a favor from you. If you want to know the true condition of Cui Xisheng’s body, you can cooperate with us.
As long as we find the laboratory in this safe zone and rescue Dean Hao, he will definitely help you treat Cui Xisheng’s body."
"Dean Hao? Hao Ren?" Hearing the familiar name suddenly, Meng Jiangtian asked in surprise.
"Yes, he's the Dean Hao Ren from your university hospital. He even helped Cui Xisheng with his pregnancy. He should be the one who knows the most about Cui Xisheng's physical condition," Lin Weihong nodded.
"What happened to Dean Hao? Why do you want to rescue him? Who are you all?" Meng Jiangtian asked.
"There’s an underground laboratory in this safe zone, where some unspeakable experiments are conducted. We were once captured and turned into test subjects in that lab.
Dean Hao awakened the Purification-type ability, which can purify zombie viruses. He should have also been captured and taken into the basement.
But he was responsible for the experiments, while we were the test subjects.
Thankfully, we were his test subjects. He couldn't bear to perform experiments on us, so he set us free.
Before he left, he told us to find someone to rescue him and specifically mentioned your name and Cui Xisheng’s.
Dean Hao said that with your abilities, you should be able to reach the safe zone. He believed you would come here.
He also said that as long as you rescue him, he can personally take care of Cui Xisheng and guarantee that Cui Xisheng will give birth to a healthy baby."
"We waited here for a long time, and when we heard you made such a big name for yourself and that your level was even higher than Liu Shenghui’s, we immediately recognized your name and came to find you."
Lin Weihong's explanation seemed too coincidental, even a bit absurd. Meng Jiangtian couldn't completely believe their words.
And, to distinguish the truth from lies, it was hard to tell immediately. It was better to risk being wrong than to let the opportunity slip.
"What kind of experiments were you subjected to?" Meng Jiangtian asked, wanting to know more.
"Crystal core transplantation experiment," Lin Weihong revealed an astonishing term.
"Crystal cores can be transplanted?" Meng Jiangtian raised an eyebrow.
"They can't, that's why we had to do experiments."
Lin Weihong shook her head and continued, "Liu Shenghui wanted to create a team of ability users who were completely obedient to him. He wanted to transplant crystal cores from disobedient ability users into obedient ordinary people.
As for the source of the crystal cores, he didn’t care whether they were from zombies or ability users, he took them all.
Right now, the ability users’ service hall doesn’t have enough crystal cores to support his experiments. So, he started focusing on ability users.
He doesn't care how many people die as long as the experiment succeeds.
We were the ability users who were targeted to have our crystal cores taken. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice that ability users in the safe zone are disappearing every few days.
The missing ability users are considered to have died in the wild, and since their families are not around, no one goes looking for them.
We came to the safe zone full of hope, but within three days, we were knocked unconscious and sent to the laboratory.
If it weren't for Dean Hao saving us, we’d have been turned into corpses, our flesh and blood used to feed the zombies they captured and locked up."
"What did they capture the zombies for?"
"Ordinary people can’t withstand the energy of the transplanted crystal cores and die. So, they tried to transplant the crystal cores into zombies to see if they could handle the energy.
After all, those zombies are already half-dead, maybe they could bear the energy of the crystal cores."
"Did they succeed?"
"We don’t know. When we escaped, they hadn’t succeeded yet. They kept pressuring Dean Hao to purify the virus in the zombies.
Dean Hao didn’t want to assist them, so he sent us out to get help.
We’ve already contacted some ability users, and as long as we find the exact location of the laboratory and have the right opportunity, we’ll launch a rescue operation.
There aren’t many ability users guarding the laboratory, but their levels are high. One can fight off five or six of us low-level ability users.
But no matter how strong they are, they’re no match for you. If you join us, we’re sure to rescue Dean Hao and expose Liu Shenghui’s ambitions. We’ll save the other ability users too."
"Didn't you escape from the laboratory? How could you not find the laboratory's location?"
"The laboratory we escaped from has already been emptied. Liu Shenghui moved to a new location, and we don’t know where it is."
Meng Jiangtian stood still, carefully examining Lin Weihong’s words for truth.
Lin Weihong blinked her big eyes and looked at Meng Jiangtian earnestly. Unfortunately, her overly seductive gaze made it impossible to trust her.
Meng Jiangtian remained half-skeptical and couldn’t fully trust her.
"It’s okay if you don’t believe me now. Dean Hao’s life isn’t in danger for the time being. You can observe for a few more days, and you’ll see that ability users are continuing to disappear.
Go back and use your abilities to help Cui Xisheng. The baby is yours, and he will really appreciate your abilities. Once the baby is comfortable, Cui Xisheng will feel better too, and his complexion will improve.
If possible, you could also keep an eye out for where the laboratory might be located. But be careful, there are surveillance cameras everywhere here.
If you want to find us, you can come to this shop. The shopkeeper's brother is an ability user who was killed in the laboratory.
He thought his brother had died in the wild from a zombie attack, but now he’s joined us, so he’s absolutely trustworthy."
"I'll consider it." Meng Jiangtian stared at Lin Weihong for a long time, then glanced at Zheng Ou, and ultimately did not refuse.
Considering the surveillance outside, Meng Jiangtian calmly walked downstairs, bought two pairs of slippers in the shop, and swaggered out of the door.
The others in the room watched him leave. Wei Lingling, a bit worried, asked, "Sister Weihong, do you think he will help us?"
"I’ve already mentioned Dean Hao. There’s an 80% chance he’ll help," Lin Weihong said confidently.
"But Dean Hao never mentioned anything about his relationship with Cui Xisheng. If he finds out we lied, won’t he turn against us?"
"If you don’t mention it, I won’t mention it. How will he know we lied? Besides, I didn’t really lie to him. Dean Hao is really waiting for rescue.
As for Cui Xisheng and Dean Hao, that’s just a coincidence. I just used this coincidence to pull some strings."
"Once we rescue Dean Hao, he will definitely help Cui Xisheng with his health. After we save Dean Hao, they’ll be a happy family. He won’t lose out."
Lin Weihong spoke loudly with a justified tone, but inwardly, she felt a bit guilty.
"From what we’ve observed, Meng Jiangtian doesn’t seem like a magnanimous person. I hope he’ll overlook it for Dean Hao’s sake and not hold it against us."
Zheng Ou sighed while rubbing his stomach, and Lin Weihong scratched her head nervously.

AAISBMEBF Chapter 83: Something Strange
Meng Jiangtian was anxious to go home and see Cui Xisheng, but at every intersection on the road, there was a surveillance camera.
With so many cameras, it would be hard for Lin Weihong to find the blind spots.
Finally, after some time, Meng Jiangtian made his way back home. He ignored Liu Anna in the living room and rushed to Cui Xisheng's room.
The door was locked from the inside. Meng Jiangtian knocked on the door again and again, urging Cui Xisheng to open it.
Cui Xisheng opened the door with sleepy eyes, still groggy and grumpy. His narrowed eyes were filled with hostility: "What do you want?"
"Are you hungry?" Meng Jiangtian placed his hand on Cui Xisheng's stomach.
"I just had breakfast, what are you talking about?" Cui Xisheng swatted his hand away, then saw a soft white light in his palm. It was some kind of ability, right?
Cui Xisheng immediately became alert and stepped back, glaring at Meng Jiangtian: "What are you trying to do?"
Does this person want to kill him?
"I just want to try something." Meng Jiangtian suddenly stepped into the room, quickly closing the door behind him.
His right hand, glowing green with his wood-type ability, restrained Cui Xisheng, pinning him to the bed, while his left hand with healing abilities moved towards Cui Xisheng's stomach.
Other types of abilities might harm Cui Xisheng, but the healing ability wouldn't. So, Meng Jiangtian decided to use it to try something.
Cui Xisheng was bound tightly, his arms and legs wrapped in the green wood ability, leaving only his stomach and head exposed, unable to move.
As the healing energy approached his stomach, Cui Xisheng screamed, "Meng Jiangtian, what are you doing? Let me go! Don’t touch my stomach, get away from me!"
What does this person want? Does he know there's a baby inside and wants to harm it?
His screams were loud, and Liu Anna outside the door heard them clearly.
Although she didn’t know exactly what was going on between Cui Xisheng and Meng Jiangtian, hearing Cui Xisheng’s anguished cries made her feel happy. Her curiosity flared, and she pressed her ear against the door to eavesdrop.
"Don’t be scared, I’m not going to hurt you." Meng Jiangtian didn’t expect Cui Xisheng to react so strongly. He kissed him on the forehead to comfort him.
While comforting him, the soft white healing energy continued to approach Cui Xisheng's stomach, slowly penetrating through his skin and into his body.
"Meng Jiangtian, I hate you!" As Cui Xisheng felt the energy approaching the baby, he shouted in despair.
Liu Anna outside the door was even more pleased, her eyes practically glowing with excitement.
Meng Jiangtian frowned, feeling that Cui Xisheng really didn’t trust him. He seemed to be in a state of total despair, thinking that he was about to perish.
Wanting to comfort him, Meng Jiangtian was about to speak when suddenly, he clearly felt a strong life force inside Cui Xisheng’s stomach. It seemed to wake up and was greedily absorbing his healing energy.
"What is this? What kind of ability is this?" Cui Xisheng had expected great pain as the baby was removed, but instead, he felt lighter, less dizzy, and his fatigue seemed to ease.
His mind, once foggy, began to clear, and he felt as though he were lying on a spring meadow, extremely comfortable.
"How do you feel?" Meng Jiangtian's eyes brightened with excitement as he looked at Cui Xisheng.
There really was a life inside him! It was their baby, his and Cui Xisheng’s baby!
Thank the apocalypse—it had its uses!
"It feels pretty good. Did you awaken a new ability? What is it?" Cui Xisheng had never seen such a warm white energy, and it felt very comfortable.
"Healing type, I specialize in curing illnesses. If you’re ever uncomfortable, just tell me. As long as you’re not torn apart or dead on the spot, I can heal you right away.
You're not alone anymore. You need to take good care of yourself." Meng Jiangtian gently touched Cui Xisheng’s stomach, his expression growing even softer.
But Cui Xisheng was shocked and raised his head to look at Meng Jiangtian, cautiously asking, "What did you say? What do you mean?"
"You’re pregnant." Meng Jiangtian stared at Cui Xisheng, stating the truth.
Cui Xisheng’s panic was evident in his eyes, but he still retorted, "You’re talking nonsense! You must have awakened a new ability and fried your brain! How could a man like me get pregnant?"
"Even if you don’t admit it, it doesn’t matter. Your stomach will get bigger sooner or later, and you won’t be able to hide it." Meng Jiangtian didn’t argue with him, but gently stroked Cui Xisheng's stomach, feeling their baby greedily absorb his energy.
It had been two months, and the little one was starving.
Cui Xisheng glared at him, unable to refute. He turned his eyes away, trying to think of a way to get out of this.
The baby in his stomach wasn’t big yet, so after absorbing energy for a short while, it stopped. No matter how much other energy Meng Jiangtian sent, the baby wouldn’t respond anymore.
"This child doesn’t seem to be very active." Meng Jiangtian sighed and withdrew his hand, clearly dissatisfied.
"It’s not even a child, so why should it be active?" Cui Xisheng still stubbornly refused to admit it.
"It’s not a child, but who absorbed my energy then?"
"That’s because I’m anemic. I absorbed it."
"Fine, from now on, I’ll treat you every day to make sure you never have anemia again."
"You don’t need to do that. Just don’t touch my stomach, don’t lift my clothes and take advantage of me."
"That’s not going to happen. If you don’t agree, I’ll have to bind you up and give you energy." Meng Jiangtian casually withdrew his wood ability, saying mischievously.
Cui Xisheng shot him a black look and covered himself with the blanket, not wanting to speak to him.
"I need to go out for a bit. You rest at home and don’t run around." Meng Jiangtian confirmed the baby’s condition and decided to trust Lin Weihong’s words.
If he could save Director Hao, at least he could have peace of mind knowing that Cui Xisheng would be taken care of—he had no experience with pregnant people.
Cui Xisheng in the blanket ignored him. Meng Jiangtian smiled and flew out the window.
For others, avoiding the omnipresent surveillance cameras would be difficult, but Meng Jiangtian easily bypassed them using his space abilities. He appeared on the second floor of a household goods store.
Inside, only Zheng Ou was playing on the computer. When Meng Jiangtian suddenly appeared, Zheng Ou nearly had a heart attack.
"Are you crazy? There’s a door, why suddenly appear out of nowhere? You almost scared the baby out of me.
Don’t you know how to knock? Wait, how did you get in?" Zheng Ou was furious, but when he saw it was Meng Jiangtian, he shouted.
"Where’s Lin Weihong?" Meng Jiangtian didn’t answer Zheng Ou’s questions; he was here to find Lin Weihong and learn more about the underground lab.
"I don’t know where she went. She’s not my wife." Zheng Ou replied irritably.
Just as Meng Jiangtian frowned, he sensed Lin Weihong’s energy approaching rapidly.
Soon, Lin Weihong barged in, pushing the door open forcefully: "Zheng Ou, what’s going on?"
She turned to see Meng Jiangtian and was taken aback. "How did you get in? I’ve been downstairs, how didn’t I see you come in?"
"I flew in." Meng Jiangtian replied casually.
"You’re lying! You appeared out of nowhere! Wind abilities don’t work that fast. Do you have a second ability?" Zheng Ou recalled how Meng Jiangtian had appeared and raised his voice in disbelief.
"Space abilities. If we find Director Hao, I can sneak him out. Do you have any leads on the underground lab?" Meng Jiangtian didn’t hide anything; the more abilities he had, the more they would be wary of him, which wasn’t a bad thing.
"You're dual-ability!" Lin Weihong gasped in surprise. In the apocalypse, having just one ability was already a survival asset, but having two—well, that was on another level.
Lin Weihong stared at him for a moment, and Meng Jiangtian frowned, clearly annoyed. She quickly continued: "We’ve been searching for the lab for a while, but we don’t have much to go on.
However, based on the abandoned lab, we suspect the new lab’s entrance might be in a building that seems inconspicuous and hidden.
The entrance to the old lab was in an underground parking lot in a residential area. During the day, there are people and cars everywhere, so no one would think to look there.
We’re currently checking all the underground parking lots in the safe zone, but we don’t have enough people, and many of them won’t let outsiders in, so we haven’t made much progress.
But with your space abilities, you could help us get into places we can’t."
"Have you only checked parking lots?"
"Of course not. We’re searching all suspicious places, but the focus is still on the parking lots.
Also, we’re mostly searching at night. They want to capture ability users for experiments, so they’ll likely bring them into the lab under the cover of darkness.
During the day, there are too many people, so it’s easy for them to be exposed. It’s easier to sneak people in at night.
If you want to help search, you can go out at night and keep an eye out. Pay special attention to people carrying large bags or luggage."
"Is this really how you’re searching? Just guessing?" Meng Jiangtian felt that their approach was haphazard. It seemed like they were relying on luck.
"What else can we do? Do you have any better ideas?" Lin Weihong looked at him innocently, waiting for his answer.
"Do they have any specific conditions for selecting ability users for experiments? Like low-level abilities or people who seem particularly stupid?" Meng Jiangtian asked as he studied Lin Weihong.
Lin Weihong thought seriously and replied, "Low-level abilities should be one condition. As for being stupid, I guess low intelligence might count too. After all, if someone is too smart, they might escape."
"Well, I guess they really don’t know what they’re doing." Meng Jiangtian sighed helplessly.
"What do you mean by that?" Lin Weihong looked at him with confusion, not understanding his words.

AAISBMEBF Chapter 84: Planting Vegetables
“What do you mean?! Are you calling us stupid?” Zheng Ou suddenly realized and became enraged, leaping off the sofa and glaring at Meng Jiangtian as he questioned him.
Lin Weihong looked at Zheng Ou, confused, but suddenly had a moment of realization and her face immediately darkened.
“Don’t get worked up, idiots have their luck. I’ll go try fishing for clues too.” Meng Jiangtian explained sarcastically, and before the two could blow up, he used his space abilities to instantly escape.
“Waihong, he called us stupid,” Zheng Ou was still upset and complained to Lin Weihong.
“This jerk. We have to find the underground lab’s entrance before he does. How’s the search going for the suspicious parking lot we checked yesterday? Any progress?” Lin Weihong gritted her teeth, full of determination.
“It’s been checked. The energy signature in the parking lot came from a level-one ability user. He robbed an ordinary person who was off work. There’s nothing unusual about it.” Zheng Ou tapped on his computer.
“Disgusting. An ability user robbing an ordinary person, people like that should be thrown out of the safe zone to fend for themselves.”
“Are there any other suspicious places? I’ll go check them now.” Lin Weihong slammed her hand on the desk, asking.
“None for now,” Zheng Ou shook his head, then hesitated before continuing, “Waihong, I think that jerk made a valid point.”
“What point?! Do you also think you’re stupid?”
“Not that. I mean the first condition. Everyone is just now awakening their abilities, and Liu Shenghui is only at level 3.5.
If they want to capture ability users for experiments, they’ll definitely choose those with lower levels because higher-level ones would be harder to capture.
We could keep an eye on the low-level ability users. If any of them get captured, we can follow them and trace the lab’s entrance.”
“That’s actually a good idea. Can you get the list of registered ability users now?”
“I’ll try. They’ve upgraded the system, so it’s a bit harder for me to hack in.”
“Do your best, just don’t wear yourself out, or He Huan will come after me again.”
Meng Jiangtian stayed at the Ability Users Service Center for an hour. A new batch of survivors had arrived, and Meng Jiangtian took note of a few low-level ability users, planning to follow them.
The clock in the square struck eleven. It was time for lunch. He couldn’t let his wife and child go hungry.
After buying a meal, he spent over 5,000 contribution points. He left 5,000 for dinner, which would be gone by evening.
This couldn’t go on forever. Meng Jiangtian returned home, gave the food to Cui Xisheng, and grabbed a box of dirt before leaving again.
Before Cui Xisheng could ask, Meng Jiangtian was already gone. Eating alone was fine too, so Cui Xisheng opened the meal box and enjoyed the food.
Meng Jiangtian searched around, found a patch of soil under a large tree in a small park, and took a box of dirt back home.
On the second floor of the Ability Users Service Center, Liu Shenghui looked at Meng Jiangtian holding a box of dirt and frowned. “What’s he doing with dirt? Does he want to grow vegetables?”
“Maybe. He sold a crystal core yesterday for 15,000 contribution points, but he spent over 10,000 on food today. Tonight, he’ll run out.
He’s probably digging dirt to grow his own vegetables and save some money,” Zhou Yao had been keeping an eye on Meng Jiangtian and knew everything about him.
“What has he done today? Didn’t he go out to find work or take on a mission?”
“No, other than going out to buy food, he stayed inside all day.”
“Hmph, lazy and daydreaming. Doesn’t do any work but eats expensive food. I want to see how long he can stretch his crystal cores before he grows vegetables.”
“Keep watching him, don’t let him run around. Has the experimental result come out yet? How’s the progress?”
“The written report hasn’t come out yet, but the progress is still not ideal. Today, we experimented with zombies. Although the zombies could withstand the energy from the crystal core transplant, their bodies were nearly destroyed and they couldn’t move.
Moreover, the zombies couldn’t control the crystal cores to use abilities. Director Hao has been purifying zombies for three days, and his body is getting uncomfortable. He applied for a day off tomorrow.”
“Let him rest. A new batch of ability users arrived today. You go pick a few low-level ones and bring them into the lab.”
“Understood. I’ve already been keeping an eye on them. Here’s the list.”
“Good. Go ahead.” Liu Shenghui nodded after glancing at the list.
When Meng Jiangtian returned home, he saw Cui Xisheng slouched on the living room sofa, holding his stomach and watching TV, looking very comfortable.
Three portions of food were on the table, half-eaten. Meng Jiangtian put down the box of dirt, looked around, and asked, “Where’s Liu Anna?”
Usually, Liu Anna sat on the living room sofa watching TV, but today she wasn’t there.
“Your lover flew back home by helicopter this morning.” Cui Xisheng changed the channel, sounding sour.
As soon as he came back, he looked for his old lover. Their relationship really seemed strong.
This lousy TV in the safe zone was so boring. It only had ten channels, and after a month, it costs 1,000 contribution points. After the free trial of three days ends, anyone who renews their subscription is a fool.
The movies shown were all from before the apocalypse, and Cui Xisheng had already seen them. He angrily pressed the remote, changing to the variety channel, but it was still something he’d seen before.
“Lousy TV, not watching anymore,” he muttered, growing increasingly irritated. It was better to play some computer games.
Cui Xisheng tossed the remote, returned to the bedroom, and slammed the door shut.
Meng Jiangtian looked at the closed bedroom door and suddenly chuckled mischievously.
Looks like the kid is jealous. He was just asking, and he got this mad. Still the same, unreasonable and spoiled. He like that about Cui Xisheng.
Yesterday, Liu Anna had to leave, but he didn’t think much of it and forgot. No wonder Cui Xisheng came out today and sat in the living room watching TV.
He felt much better now. Meng Jiangtian took the seeds he had stolen from his space and wasn’t sure what kind of vegetables they were.
He randomly picked one, a small black seed the size of a millet grain, and planted it in the dirt.
He watered it with his wood-type ability. Meng Jiangtian soon felt a faint life force in the soil absorbing his energy.
The soil was slowly pushed open by a tiny sprout, and two leaves unfurled in the wind. Soon, three or four leaves grew, and the plant continued to grow.
In the end, this seed grew into a tender, green little cabbage. It turned out that the packet of seeds was for cabbage.
Meng Jiangtian took the cabbage seeds, scattered them in the soil, and continued to nurture them. Soon, he had a box full of tender little cabbages.
That would be enough for dinner tonight. He experimented with a few more types of vegetables: chives, cucumbers, tomatoes. Meng Jiangtian had stolen quite a few types of seeds.
He didn’t experiment with the other vegetables, though. His wood and water abilities were both only at level one, and he had almost exhausted his energy after growing so many.
After finishing the leftover food Cui Xisheng hadn’t finished, Meng Jiangtian rested for a while, then checked on Cui Xisheng. The kid was sleeping with the computer in his arms again.
He ate and slept, slept and ate, but still didn’t gain any weight. Meng Jiangtian gently took the computer away, tucked him into bed, and left again to track those low-level ability users.
