Blood splattered, and the zombie fell limp. Meng Jiangtian, following the smell that made him so hungry, resisted the disgust and reached into the zombie’s head, pulling out a small, bean-sized object.
People from the hospital were chasing after him, so Meng Jiangtian immediately ran off, found a pay-by-the-hour hotel, and after hesitating for a long time, he swallowed the small object.
The first time he fused with it, the feeling was so intense that it almost made Meng Jiangtian think he was going to explode. He regretted swallowing the object at that moment.
But two hours later, he felt fine. The object was wind-related, and Meng Jiangtian gained the ability to control wind.
Though he had seemingly become an ability user like those described in novels, Meng Jiangtian didn’t make a big deal of it. After eating one crystal nucleus, the hunger he had felt was gone.
Today, after eating a space-type crystal nucleus, Meng Jiangtian was sure that his ability was one that could devour others’ crystal nuclei and gain their abilities.
A common man is harmless, but a jade pendant on him is a liability. Meng Jiangtian wasn’t planning to tell anyone about his ability.
Suddenly, he thought about Cui Xisheng, and his brows furrowed.
Cui Xisheng had been constantly opposing him recently. Meng Jiangtian sighed helplessly. For now, it was probably best not to tell him; maybe he would find a chance to explain later.
After all, they were going to live together for a lifetime, and such a secret couldn’t be kept forever.
His clothes were too dirty to wear, and his body still had a layer of foul-smelling skin shed from the fusion. There was a public swimming pool near the university, but he wasn’t sure if it was still usable.
Having just fused with space abilities, Meng Jiangtian was curious. Mimicking the space-type ability user, he teleported toward the public swimming pool.

He tried teleporting three times consecutively, landing on a building rooftop. Meng Jiangtian felt dizzy, and his brain ached.
Like the space-type ability user, he could only teleport three times consecutively. However, his teleportation distance was longer, about five meters per jump, so he could travel a total of 15 meters in three teleports.
After resting for a while to recover his energy and abilities, Meng Jiangtian saw a clothing store downstairs.
There weren’t many zombies wandering near the shop, so Meng Jiangtian flicked his wind blades, and the zombies’ heads were severed instantly.
He grabbed some clean clothes and, estimating Cui Xisheng’s size, took a few sets and placed them into the small one-cubic-meter space he had created.
