The next day at noon, Wu Ming was cleaning his home when he heard a knock on the door.
Looking through the peephole, he saw his neighbor from across the hall, Qin Kong, holding a laptop—he was probably here to return it.
Wu Ming opened the door, and Qin Kong handed the laptop over, saying, "Thanks so much."
Thinking about what happened last night, Wu Ming's face flushed red in an instant. He hesitated, unsure of what to say, and just stood there dumbly, holding the laptop.
Qin Kong found it a little odd. "What's wrong?"
"N-no, nothing—" Wu Ming stammered, flustered. "I-I... it's nothing, really. Neighbors helping each other is just natural."
Qin Kong chuckled. "I'll treat you to a meal sometime!"
"Um..." Wu Ming glanced at the laptop. "Your computer probably isn't fixed yet, right? If you still need it, you can borrow it for a bit longer."
Qin Kong waved his hand and explained, "No need. I took it to a repair shop this morning. Turns out it’s just the power socket that’s broken. It'll be fixed in a couple of days, and I don't need it urgently."
Wu Ming nodded. "Alright, if you need anything, just let me know."
Qin Kong waved as he left. "Alright, I'll head back now."
Wu Ming returned to his room, clutching his laptop as he flopped onto his bed, rolling around in frustration.
Why was he so bad at talking?! He made a fool of himself again—ugh!
Meanwhile, in his own apartment, Qin Kong closed the door and let out a soft chuckle. His neighbor was really nice. The way he blushed just now was so shy, and his smile was adorable.
Would someone like that be his ideal type? He thought about it carefully. Yeah, probably. He liked people who were pure and cute, soft-looking, and easy to tease.
But wait—was his neighbor hard of hearing?
He sang all the time, and even the upstairs neighbor had come by to gently complain, yet the person right next door had never said anything?
The May Day holiday flew by quickly, and soon it was back to work.
That morning, Wu Ming was in such a good mood that he practically floated to work, smiling the whole way. Even while squeezing onto the subway during rush hour, he couldn't stop grinning.
He even ran into Qin Kong on his way out and greeted him with extra enthusiasm, "Morning!"
Qin Kong was confused. Who's ever this happy about going to work?
The reason for Wu Ming’s excitement was simple—his coworker had called yesterday to say that his postcard had arrived and would be brought in today.
A local postcard took less than a week to arrive.
Just the thought of receiving a signed postcard from Qing Kong-sama, personally written for "No Name," made Wu Ming incredibly giddy.
His idol lived right next door. He could interact with him but couldn't openly approach him. He didn’t dare to, nor did he want to. He clenched his fists in determination—he would silently admire from afar like a rational fan.
The postcard was a beautiful surprise, and he couldn’t wait to see it in person. He planned to frame it and place it by his bed, so he could gaze at the signature every day!
After work, Wu Ming hummed a tune as he carried his things, walking lightly as he stepped out of the elevator.
In the morning, when he received the postcard, he had been so happy that he kissed it and even gave his coworker a bear hug, promising to buy them dinner. His usual calm self had completely disappeared, leaving his colleague speechless.
On the way home, he stopped by the supermarket to treat himself to a nice meal.
He also bought a bunch of fruit, but it ended up being too heavy to carry with one hand, so he had to hug it all against his chest.
As he stepped out of the elevator, still humming, he suddenly ran into Qin Kong on his way out. He let out a startled "Hic!" and shut his mouth immediately.
Qin Kong couldn't help but laugh. "You're in a great mood today."
Wu Ming hesitated for a long moment before mumbling, "Uh… hehe, yeah." His singing had definitely been heard—how embarrassing!
Qin Kong nodded and was about to leave when he suddenly turned back and curiously asked, "Did something good happen?"
"Ah! No, no, nothing!" Wu Ming panicked. He couldn't exactly say, I got a postcard from you! So, he quickly waved his hands, rushed inside, and slammed the door shut.
Bang! The door closed.
"Hey! Nice singing!" Qin Kong’s voice came through the door.
Wu Ming leaned against it, covering his face in sheer embarrassment.
Once back in his room, he turned on his computer and checked Qingkong's Weibo. There were several new posts today.
The first one was from the morning.
CV Qing Kong: Ugh, back to work… [crying emoji]
Wu Ming replied—
[No Name: There, there, silly mama. But you gotta work if you wanna make money!]
The second post was a retweet of a newly released drama where Qing Kong had voiced a minor character.

Wu Ming replied—
