He was the cutest little pillow in the store, his round, chubby body wrapped in a soft, sky-blue coat. Every customer who entered couldn’t resist reaching out to give him a squeeze, yet no one was ever willing to buy him—simply because he was far too expensive.

Every day, the little pillow widened his eyes in anticipation, hoping that a customer would take him home. But every evening, when the store closed, he would shut his eyes in disappointment.

He felt so lonely, so isolated. He just wanted someone to be with him, to hold him…

As autumn turned to winter, the store brought in a new line of pillows. The once-prized sky-blue pillow, unable to sell for so long, was placed in an inconspicuous corner of the display window by the store clerk.

The little pillow felt sad but powerless. After all, he was just a pillow—no one would understand his feelings. No one…

"Sir, take a look at this new pillow. It just arrived in our store! Its vintage design features elegant, ruffled edges, making it a stylish addition to any sofa. Plus, it’s exceptionally soft and comfortable to hold…"

"I’ll take this one."

The man pointed at the sky-blue pillow tucked away in the display window’s corner.

"Uh, sir, that pillow is quite plain aside from its high-quality material, and it’s relatively expensive. Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider?" the store clerk suggested tactfully.

But the man only cast her a brief glance and said nothing more. He simply picked up the sky-blue pillow and walked straight to the checkout counter.

The little pillow had been wallowing in self-pity when, unexpectedly, someone lifted him up. He thought he was just being moved to another shelf again—but to his surprise, he was pulled into a warm embrace.

The one holding him was a man with rimless glasses perched on his nose, exuding an air of refinement and elegance. The little pillow nestled against the man’s chest, slowly taking in the sun-kissed scent of his clothes. In that instant, it felt as though something had suddenly filled the emptiness in his heart… His nose tingled, and for the first time, the loneliness he had endured for so long made him want to cry in this man’s arms.

After paying, the man simply carried the little pillow out of the store, ignoring the cashier who had taken out a plastic bag to wrap him up.

At last, he had left that home goods store. The entire way, the little pillow didn’t blink, staring intently at the man’s face as if trying to etch every detail into his memory. A tiny, sweet sense of happiness filled his heart.

Suddenly, the man lowered his head and glanced at him, a faint smile forming at the corners of his lips. Their eyes met, and in that moment, the little pillow’s face turned bright red. The man gently nuzzled his head against the pillow’s, and the little pillow’s heart pounded wildly—like a little deer leaping around inside his chest, unable to calm down.
